For the next few days, you were studying up for Professor Choi's history test at the end of the next week. It was a lot of work, you were focused on the formation of what is known today as Korea. There were so many dates, names, events, you really had your work cut out for you. It was so intense that Jihyo was over your house right now, both of you sitting in your room studying together, quizzing each other on some of the questions.

"This is too much!" You sighed, closing your book as you rested your head on the table. Jihyo sighed, closing her book as well as she leaned forward.

"You need to focus. The test is going to be here soon! Next thing you know, you're going to blink and be in the middle of taking it! And what will you say to yourself when you try to rationalize it? That you're too busy thinking about your date with Kim Taehyung after it's all over?" You pouted a bit.

"That's not what I'm thinking abo-"

"Don't lie, it is." Jihyo said. You lifted your head, looking up at your friend.

"Are you okay? I know you're not Taehyung's biggest fan but that's no reason to be so frustrated." You stated. Jihyo grunted in annoyance, rested her chin in her hands as she leaned forward and her elbow laid on the table.

"I'm not frustrated about that. You know I said you can do whatever you want to." Jihyo said. You leaned forward, crossing your arms.

"Then why are you so pouty lately?" You asked. Jihyo didn't respond. "Are you...jealous?!"

"JEALOUS!?" Jihyo shouted in surprise, her head flying back as her eyes widened. "Jealous of him? You're kidding, right? I hate him!" You frowned at her reaction. It was too extreme to be believable, there was something she was hiding.

"Taehyung told me you knew each other since you were kids. You must have been friends at some point." Jihyo sighed.

"Well yeah..." She mumbled.

"So...what happened?" You asked curiously. Jihyo was silent for a moment, a hand resting in her hair. You looked at her, waiting patiently for her answer. It bothered you that someone you considered your friend was against this possibility of a relationship. Finally, she spoke up.

"Look, we used to be friends but...when we were about 13, he just started to change. He met the other guys that he hangs out with now and they spent all of their time together and I just saw him becoming some bad boy. I didn't want to be bothered with it. We fought about it and..." Jihyo simply shrugged. "That's all. Nothing else to really tell." You frowned a bit at her reason; it was too vague for you, but you could also tell she wasn't going to spill anything else. Trying to make yourself satisfied with the results, you nodded.

"Okay then. If that's what happened. It's a shame though..." you opened your textbook back up. Jihyo did the same.

"If it helps any, Taehyung used to be a lot worse..." she said softly, and you glanced up at her. "He used to fight almost every day, he would curse out teachers back in middle school and even threatened a group of students once. He was absolutely awful back then... In high school he kind of chilled out a bit, mostly resorting to just skipping class and sneaking a smoke every once in a while...But it wasn't as bad, not by a long shot." You saw Jihyo finally look up at you, her eyes were very serious. "But then you transferred." She smiled. "And, I knew from the moment he came to introduce himself that he had some kind of a thing for you..." Your face turned red.

"Really?" you asked.

"Yeah." Jihyo said. "So I've kind of come to terms with the idea that he would try and pursue you. Just...be careful. It seems like he is coming around and acting like he did when we were kids...for the most part." You both chuckled. "Just be careful. That's all I ask of you, is to just be careful and don't let him take advantage of you." You nodded.
