Chapter 16 - Lockup

Taehyung was sitting in holding at a local police station, wondering how he got there. His head was aching, his face was swollen and bruised, and his body was sore. He looked around, staring out behind the jail cell bars as he saw policemen walking past, not once looking in his direction. As he rubbed his face, he closed his eyes and buried his head in his knees.

He thought back to about 45 minutes ago when he was in the park fighting with Ji Seok. His head and jaw were throbbing from the first two punches that Ji Seok got in while he was off guard, but it wasn't long before Taehyung lunged in his direction and punched Ji Seok back to the floor. Taehyung and Ji Seok were grappled in each other's grips, sending punches and kicks when they weren't dodging any attack that they could. Taehyung saw Ji Seok smirk, spitting some blood onto the floor.

"See? I knew you were a fucking monster." He sneered.

"Look who's talking." Taehyung snapped, before sending a punch that knocked Ji Seok back. He stood up straight, lifting his fists as he waited to brace himself for another attack. Ji Seok stood up, also getting ready to throw hands. Just as they were about to lunge at each other again, Taehyung felt someone grab hold of him. He didn't even bother looking back, he just flung his elbow in an attempt to get whoever it was off. He heard a grunt before he was released and he went back to fling another punch at Ji Seok. The fight was finally interrupted by bright red and blue lights flashing in their faces.

"Crap..." Jin mumbled, shielding his face from the light as two cop cars pulled up. Taehyung and Ji Seok were still going at it, not caring about the police who were making their way over. "Taehyung, stop!" He tried to call out but was ignored. They watched the cops approach with flashlights.

"What the-" The group of cops rushed over, intervening as they tried to pull the two boys apart. "What's going on here?!" One cop asked, gripping Ji Seok in his grasp.

"He's insane!" Ji Seok shouted. "I was minding my own business and he jumped me!"

"WHAT?!" Taehyung shouted. "You punched first!"

"I was defending myself! Why do you think his friends stayed back?! They're all insane!" The cops looked up at the six other boys, who were stunned.

"Hey we tried to stop them!" Namjoon said. "Ji Seok threw the first punch, we were minding our own business!"

"Liars! They're lying!" Ji Seok said. One cop looked over to Namjoon and saw in the glowing street lights that he was holding his side.

"What happened to you, kid?" He asked. Taehyung looked over to see Namjoon holding his side and huffed, guilt washing over him. Namjoon didn't respond.

"See? He's such an animal, he even beat up his friend when it got too much. I'm the victim here!"

"Oh fuck you, man!" Taehyung snapped, trying to get out of the cop's grasps. Both men holding him kept him back. The cops exchanged glances. Finally, Ji Seok and Taehyung were put into handcuffs. "What the hell?!"

"You're both coming down to the station so we can clear this up." One of the cops said. Once both boys were in cuffs, they were dragged to the police cars shouting. While Taehyung was trying to plead his case, Ji Seok was walking calmly, grinning.

"Wait, you can't arrest Taehyung! He didn't' start anything!" Jimin shouted, the group trying to follow them. The cop turned to them as he shoved Taehyung in the car and closed the door.

"You boys are lucky we don't call back up and take your asses in for trespassing. Go home." He said, before going into the car and driving off.

That was all Taehyung knew happened as he was carted off. As the cop drove in silence, he tried to plead his case, but he was completely ignored. It was making him angrier and angrier, and he resorted to kicking the back of the cop's seat.
