"I-."
Bzzz. Bzzzzzz.
Taehyung's face dropped as he heard your phone buzz, the sound of two text messages distracting him and making him pout his lips. You glanced down towards the sound, then back up at him. The minute you saw his annoyed expression, you bit your lip.
"I'll look later. I'm sure it's not important, probably my mom sending me a text or something." You said, squeezing his hands. You knew how important this was to him, and the last thing you wanted was to make it seem as though you did not see it that way too. Taehyung sighed nodding. However, just as he was about to open his mouth, your phone began blasting your calling ringtone, shocking the both of you for a moment. You groaned, and Taehyung ran a hand through his hair. "What on earth?" You tried to ignore it, looking at him.
"It must be important if they're calling you." He said. "Go ahead." He smiled. You frowned, not wanting to ruin what he was trying to make a nice moment. "Go on. We still have time here together." You nodded, reaching into your bag and pulling out your phone. Seeing the contact, you raised an eyebrow.
"Hyuna?" Taehyung leaned forward to look as well. You had exchanged numbers when you reconciled the other day.
"What the hell does she want?" He asked, frowning. "I thought she was done interrupting us."
"I thought so too. I told her we had a date today and I wouldn't be around." You quickly answered it. "Hello, Hyun-." You heard what sounded like Hyuna panting. "Hyuna?"
"Hey! I know you're on your date but....ah, fuck."
"What's wrong?" you asked. You heard Hyuna cry out. All you heard next was muffled shouting and exchanging of words between two people. Then, the phone seemed to fall, before the line disconnected. "Hyuna!? Hyuna!" You called, but only heard the sound of a deadline. You closed your phone. "Oh jeez."
"What?" Taehyung asked.
"It sounds like Ji Seok is with her and they're probably fighting. Her phone must have broken or been disconnected." You set your phone down and ran a hand through your hair, trying to think of what to do. Taehyung saw how nervous you were, and he took a deep breath.
"Let's go then." He said, standing up. You glanced up at him. "I know where she lives. We'll check there first. If we go now, we can catch a bullet train and get there quickly." You nodded, standing up. Taehyung grabbed his phone, quickly texting Jimin to come back and clean up the picnic basket, with a promise of returning the favor, and the two of you were off.
---
"Go away!" Hyuna begged, keeping the door closed. She was in her apartment, the door locked as Ji Seok stood there, banging on the doors.
"Let me in, you stupid bitch." He said. "Who the hell did you call? The cops?!"
"No!" She shouted.
"They won't do shit and you know it!"
"I didn't!" She shouted again. She knew that the cops, even if they were called, would not take coming to her house to seriously. Neighbors have constantly called the cops for their domestic disputes, but Hyuna always told them not to worry about it, that it was handled before their arrival, and she would send them away without any more worry. It got to the point that...any call would fall on deaf ears. Besides, Ji Seok was right. Even if the cops were called, he'd be taken in, questioned, and let out before she sat down for dinner. This would happen often, mostly while her parents were away. Not only that, but their neighbors have just begun to ignore it, acting as if Hyuna and Ji Seok's arguing was nothing more than white noise. They'll yell or tell them to stop, but after that, they stop giving a shit.
