A Shiki Story

Fourth Death

Tatsumi and his trusty backscratcher got invited to some kid's home. Once again it was bright and sunny much to her dislike. The total death was now 12 and she had a feeling they would have a new addition, must likely the common Shiki through. So far a teacher and a police officer if she remembered right.

That night Megumi went out to watch that blue haired boy who she called Yuuki who seemed to want to leave this village and go back to the city. Megumi hated this village and still dreamed of going to the city like some of the other Shiki who kidnapped stray humans for the Shiki that could/ would not hunt.

Later (A few days later)

Sunako now ordered for them to order their food to to move away. The officer's family left when he died as fast as they could under Shiki control. The humans would be picked up by their moving vans in the dead of night. All ready one of their own took over as a police officer, Sasaki if she remembered his name.

Sasaki was a older male with a serious expression, the human's probably would say he looked sinister. Nao on the other hand had become a Shiki and was all ready determined to bring her family with her. She was pretty sure the young mom had gone first for her son. Nao seemed to love her human relatives even through she only shared blood with her young son.

She heard that Nao's son had died, the village gossiped a lot especially the town elders. She would go down to get fresh groceries so she easily picked up on the humans even when inside and whispered. 

That night she ran through the mountain's thick forest. As she passed she could get cuts but they would immediately heal without any mess. She was a fast healer even for a Jinrou so she would not notice if she got hurt a lot of times.

She stopped at distances when she spotted a building, it looked like a church with its stained glass windows. Curious she walked closer but made sure the human author Seishin and Sunako. Staying far away she could hear that they were on Temple Grounds. The person who built the building a long time ago tried to make it into a church.

She could hear them talk inside but she chose to stay where she was and listen. Her golden wolf-like eyes glowed in he pitch blackness but she doubted any human would notice her. Humans did not depend on all of their senses, mainly sight and sound which was not that enhanced.

Death was a terrible thing. "The young, the old, the good and the bad...Its the same for everyone," She heard Sunako say. When Sunako ran away happily did she follow from behind until she let her presence known. "If it makes the Mr. Muroi feel better I could come with you," She said softly.

She had the feeling the doctor was making a nuisance. That guy if he found out or realized what they were it was going to be trouble. She wasn't sure what Sunako thought but their leader probably did not see him as a serous threat.

That night Megumi and Tatsumi paid the blue haired teen a little visit as he stayed over at a friends house, she had followed from behind. Three glowing red eyes watched the silent house full of sleeping humans. She left the two to wander around the human filled houses were she could smell their yummy blood.

Picking her head up she sniffed the air like how a wolf would when hunting for prey. She found her sleeping prey pretty fast and once full made sure she and the night was forgotten.
