A Shiki Story

Twelfth Decay

Violet

She had been painting lately, Sunako had told her about Mr. Muroi's book that he was working on so she painted Abel and his older brother Cain. Finished with the light blue haired Abel she set her brush down into a can full of warm water. Cain was a deep violet haired young man with green eyes.

Looking outside she saw the sun fading into beautiful colors. Leaving her easel were it was she took off and ran to the dense woods that surrounded this reclusive village. Not even winded she skidded to a stop and walked to see a new scene. The new Shiki Toru had not been regularly feeding on the Yuuki boy like he should have.

Rolling up his sleeve the purple haired boy offered his blood willingly and asked to think of a good solution. Not every human would let them exists if they all knew their existence. She had learned through time and experience about that. She had to agree, Tatsumi could easily find these two even without help from his fellow Shiki's.

She ran back to serve the Kirishikis. "How nice it'd be if we didn't have to attack people. We didn't become creatures like this because we wanted to," Chizuru said as she swirled her wine glass full of blood. Walking behind Tatsumi who served Sunako some blood she stood next to Yoshie her fellow Jinrou.

"But...We get really hungry. It's a very, very empty hunger. No one can bear it...so they become to the point that they think of nothing but killing people," Sunako said before drinking all of her blood. 

Later

"Oh ? If I remember right, your from the atelier ?" Seishirou asked. She had been companioning him while he walked Cerberus, Achilles, Aeolus and Apollo who were pure bred Rottweilers. She had found the four of them in the city when they were just puppies and now they were full grown, healthy and happy.

"Hello~" She greeted cheerfully as Yuuki's Dad. "You were in front of our house the other day, weren't you ?" Looking ashamed the young human said,"Well...I feel bad about what happened to you." Laughing Seishirou took a few steps closer,"I never thought that I'd be treated like a corpse. You moved from the big city, right ? Then you'd understand how I feel, would you not ?"

Adjusting the large parasol she made sure to protect both of them from the sun's harmful rays. "Yeah...They say that an epidemic might be the reason for many people dying lately.To be honest, I think that's doubtful."  "What do you mean ?" The more silent human asked.

"A new kind of infectious disease...That's something we hear about only in movies, right ? Don't you think it's all-most like a delusion ? Or maybe I should say that its almost like the superstitions in a rural area. Don't tell me you take such story seriously."

"N-No.." the new human stuttered. "Well, thats good. Just as you'd expect of someone from a big city. I'm relieved to know that someone like you lives in this village. Well then..." Seishirou said as he  continued their walk as she silently walked beside him offering protection for their fair skin. With her Maid uniform lightly swishing comfortably she followed with ease.

Next Day

She saw the boy's father throw away those talismans that those two annoying siblings brought. He even made them believe that he believed they, the 'Okigami' were real. That night Megumi went out to kill those two sibling's Dad because Tatsumi ordered it. It was to serve as a warning.

Most likely in the morning that Yuuki boy would be discovered dead, She thought as she walked deeper into the giant forest that surrounded them all.
