Chapter Nine: "Breaking News"

First Person's Perspective:

You were putting on your relaxing clothes on to wear for the day. There wasn't much to do in the lair when you've done every activity they have to offer. Especially since Mikey likes to hold you up on his game console and try to beat your infamous record. No way were you looking forward to another day to doing the same old same old, so without telling anyone, you slipped out of the lair and took a nice walk throughout the small walkway for a small fifteen minutes.

You ended up walking past a store with those big TV's in the window when the News came on. The static caught your attention as it said:

"Breaking News, people, it seems that about a month ago a woman killed her husband during the night in cold blood. The investigations have led the police to believe that the reason is just because he was abusing her and her son before and after he ran away. Here's a picture of the woman and her husband for you to see."

The screen showed to the woman and man they were talking about. Your mother and father. Your eyes widened in shock and fear as well as sadness. Sure your parents weren't the best of the century, but it's not like you'd want them dead, or to kill each other. You ran away from the TV and ran back to the lair. Maybe you should've stayed back where you were residing at. It was luck that kept you from hearing the part where they said that your mother claimed to not be alone on the killing.

~Time skip to five minutes later...

You found yourself back in the manhole cover, and running throughout the sewers like a madman. You ran off so fast and so sudden that you didn't realize you were lost, and that it was the wrong manhole cover.

You went everywhere in search of the lair, but no luck availed to you. You ran so fast you got dizzy and threw up at the rush of adrenaline. Once you finally stopped spewing leftovers from your breakfast, you stopped walking/running and sat down on the floor crying till your eyes became sore from the long time of crying. "Mom...dad...why? Why did you do this to me? To us? Why?...why?..." Your eyes started to get heavier and heavier as they looked at the wall. You began to fall asleep, and soon enough, you were out like a nightlight.

"Where's Leo?"

"[YOUR NAME]!!!"

Your eyes opened and you gasped in shock and fear before seeing that it was only leo. "L-Leo?" You stuttered out before he yelled at you saying "What the fucking hell do you think you were doing?! Don't you realize you could have gotten kidnapped or killed thanks to what you did?! Don't do such a stupid thing like that ever AGAIN!"

Although he was yelling at you, giving you the scariest eyes that anyone has ever seen, and looking like he'd slap you, and even growling at you, you weren't crying because of that. He mistook that as you trying to keep yourself from crying as you were all chocked up, and said with a bit of a worried tone "I-I'm sorry, [Your name], I was just being too overprotective of you is all. Don't take it too personal."

You shook your head and said "No, it's not that, it's just...I saw the News earlier today. And it was about my mom and dad." His eyes widened in shock and disbelief. He thought the News came out already, but it was unfortunate for him that [Your name] had seen the News today of all days. He decided to play dumb and said with a more resourceful face "What did it say?"

You sniffed in some of your tears before saying "I-It said about how she killed my dad, and that it was cause he abused us...a-and I...I ran off without knowing where to go to! I'm so sorry! WHY DOES LIFE HATE ME SO MUCH?!"

Leo looked at you with surprise. He was expecting to hear about how the world saw your mother as a crazed lunatic that was talking about a turtle that was the same height as a bodybuilder, and was helping her out in killing. But to his surprise, nothing came up about that. He silently was grateful for that, and said as he hugged you with a reassuring smile that you couldn't see "I'm so sorry, [Your name]. Life doesn't hate you, it's hurting you is all. You have no reason to be so upset about it though. You matter to me to most in this world, so don't think life hates you at all if I love you. Got it?"

You were so surprised by this, but the blush on your face didn't stop you from hugging back and falling asleep on his shoulder. Hugging you tightly in his warm embrace, he held you into his plastron and carried to back to the lair. After making it to the gang and putting you on the couch without waking you up, he told the boys and April simply "He's just tired and had a bad seeing from the News. It's fine now."

His eyes held a different look as he explained in small details about the whole thing, and it made them shiver as they had to sit there and try not to show it to him. His eyes said:

"Don't make me do something you'll regret later."
