Syl pov
I watched as YN, flipped through the papers in Chasity's folder. And I saw her face flush as she read a note attached to the folder.

Me: what's wrong?

She jumped out of her seat and ran into the nearest bathroom along with Chasity's folder.

I paced toward Dr. Browns room. And knocked on the door.

D.B: come in.
Me: *opens door.*
D.B: oh 😔. You must've just found out.
Me: no, yn sorta locked herself in the restroom with Ty's folder.
D.B: well, first and foremost. This is Dr.Monroe. I had attached her information in Chasity's folder.
Me: hello.
D.M: nice to meet you.
D.B: please have a seat.
Me: *sits at nearest chair*
D.B:Doctor Monroe is an oncologist
Me: but that's a cancer doctor.
D.M: Chasity....She has Leukemia.
Me: 😧
D.B: I noticed her gums were a bit inflated and YN mentioned she's always tired; a sign of constant fatigue. And her blood test revealed an abnormal white cell count.
Me: what are her treatments? What stage is she at?
D.M: well, from her blood test I see that. A simple blood marrow transfusion will help her significantly. and as soon as possible would be best.
Me: who can we get that from?
D.M: donors who match her blood type but that's an expensive treatment or most preferably a close family member. with little to no alcohol nor drug use

"little to no alcohol not drug use" That rules out Adam.

Me: so like Me or YN.
D.M: YN, would be great but, their blood types are not the same.
Me: so me?
D.M: I'm afraid an Aunt's transfusion would be less effective as a mother's transfusion. Can you get in contact with their mother?
Me: I know exactly where she is😔
D.M: great! We'd love to speak to her as soon as possible.
Me: will do.

YN pov
We headed back home in total silence. I couldn't tell Ty... Not yet. I watched as she naively looked out the window singing the capitals of the U.S. How do you explain to a 10 year old what cancer is? Let alone explain to her that she has it? 😔

...
When we got back home, I locked myself inside of the guest room. Ty tried to follow me but I blocked her off. Syl asked me if I wanted anything to eat, I told her no. Moments later....

*knock*
Me: I'm not hungry Syl, thanks anyways.
?: this isn't Syl. It's Chreś.

Roc pov
There was a long pause before I heard the door unlock. And I waited a moment before slowly walking inside. She was laid face down on the bed.

Me: Hey.
YN: hi.

Her voice was muddled into the pillow

Me: you wanna talk about it?
YN: not really.

I sat my self next to her and draped myself over her.

Me: it's okay you don't have to. I just really want you to stop crying.
Yn: *sobs* I can't.

I pulled her into my chest.

Yn: it's just been so long since I've cried. And I feel like on top of everything that I've been through over the past years this just makes everything seem 10x worse.
Me: I know, baby. I know.
Yn: no you don't. At the age of 14 my mom abandoned us. I was left to take care of my little sister. I had to drop out of school 😔.
Me: 😳😟
Yn: it's not like my drunk dad could support us. And I'm thinking "hey maybe my life is back on track. Maybe I can finally become an OB/GYN or a biomedical engineer. Maybe this new life could be me restart and refresh" And Ty gets diagnosed with Leukemia.
Me: oh my god.😳
Yn: how do tell Ty she has cancer? I couldn't even bring myself to tell her our pet fish died 2 months ago.
Me: YN, I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do, to help you ?
Yn: no. I just need to talk to Sylvia and I don't want her telling Ty anything yet. If there's anyone, she needs to hear it from is me.
Me: alright, but you gotta come out of this room. You can't just lock yourself in here. She's gonna be fine.
Yn: we don't know that for sure Chresanto.
Me: yes, we do, I promise baby girl.
Yn: no one's called me that in about 6 years. 😌
Me: well, you're my baby girl now.
Yn: really?
Me: fo su're shawty.
Yn: ... 😌
Me: well, we should really get downstairs now.
