"Wow! I can't believe you guys are almost graduating." Our old college secretary who was also our thesis adviser got teary eyed.

He was just actually happy for his two favorite students. Hindi ako kasama doon because I was one of the bobo students in the college. I was just lucky na best friends ko pareho ang top students ng batch namin. I was the salingkitkit sa thesis nila. 

Everybody thinks I'm a freeloader to the hard work of the two. People won't also come to rest my case that I only got in the college and was surviving because of my connections.

"Thank you, Sir. Mamimiss po namin kayo." Trish said to him.

"Sabihan niyo ako agad kung kukuha kayo ng masterals dito. Ako bahala sa recommendations niyo. Ikaw rin Miss Mirabueva." Our thesis adviser genuinely smiled at me.

"Baka sila Trish and Joni lang po magagawan niyo po, Sir. Hindi ko pa po naiisip magfurther ng studies ko." I was caught off guard kaya I honestly told him what was on my mind.

"Bakit naman? Sayang. Gayahin mo 'tong best friend mong si Patricia. Napakagaling na bata." He said and I don't know if I should feel insulted as he compared me to Trish who was the female model student.

"Sir, baka sa abroad na po kukuha ng masteral si Lourie." Joni interjected.

"Talaga ba?" He was suspicious.

"Opo Sir. Nasa states na po si Lourie after ng graduation." Trish added.

"Basta kayong dalawa, inaasahan ko kayong bumalik dito. Kayo ba ay hindi pa magkasintahan?" Tanong niya sa dalawa.

The two of them blushed and just chuckled as they dismissed our professor's suspicion. I know deep down Trish was happy. She likes people thinking that Joni and she was a thing.

Nagpaiwan si Joni to talk to our thesis adviser more habang Trish and I decided to head to the canteen.

"Hi Ate Trish! Congrats sa graduation. Sureball ang Magna Cum Laude standing mo. Couple goals talaga kayo ni Kuya Joni." Praised by a lower batch to Trish.

"Thanks Ella! See you around." Nagwave pa si Trish sa kanya.

"Kayo na ba ni Joni?" Tumaas ang kilay ko.

"Well, hindi pa naman official." She hesitated and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"So what's the score? Almost two years na since you told me to keep it a secret that there's something mutual between you two." I asked curiously.

That was really a big revelation that time. It was really complicated but I trust Trish.

"I'm planning to officially say yes to be his girlfriend after graduation. Alam mo naman parents ko graduate muna ng college ang priority." She smiled.

I tried my best not to feel anything, but it really stings my heart.

"Grabe girl! I'm so happy for you two! Syempre since best friends ko kayo pareho at silent cheerleader mo ako para sa relationship niyo."

But I wanted to scream and shout that life is unfair. Life is unfair because I'm in love with the same guy my best friend is in love with, who is coincidentally both our best friend too.
