Half-way House In My Heart
I’m climbing up these wooden stairs,
I'm looking for you.
I swear I hear you call my name,
And I'm calling for you.
From the window, lanterns glow,
I see your shadow move.
I move towards the darker side,
I hear your whispering.
I know you're here,
I feel you.
Don't pretend you're gone,
I need you.
And now I'm running through these melting doors,
Calling out your name.
I know that they are lying,
You can't be far away.
I'm tumbling through this half-way house,
I feel my vision blurring.
I'm screaming on the top of my lungs,
This can't be happening.
You said you'd stay forever,
Stay with me through it all,
So now when I'm on this side,
Why are you beyond the hidden wall?
Angelic voices call me,
They tell me I must leave.
That my soul has now departed,
But I'm begging them,
Please;
Let me stay here with you,
Even from the other side,
Let us be together,
In this half-way house of mine.
Yet I know my time is over,
And I have to say good bye.
I wish we could have forever,
But all souls must one day fly.
I know that you can't see me,
But I'm holding hands with you.
One last time, an invisible embrace,
I'm holding on so tight.
I wish that you could hear me,
Because I'm telling you that I love you,
And that everything will be fine.
One day we'll see each other again,
But until that day I promise you,
I'll protect you with my heart.
I'll always be watching over you
Like I have done from the start.
Let us always be together,
In this half-way house in my heart.
