-------- The Present day
"You remember what your father said to you, right? "Murmured Juan's lawyer.
The latter nodded, swallowing before turning to the interrogation room as the door opened. He clenched his jaw at the sight of Polo being escorted outside by his own lawyer. The boys' duo exchanged a brief icy glance before Cristina called Juan to bring him in.
The brown entered, greeting Ivan with a nod before pulling the metal chair opposite the godmother of one of his best friends. He sat, crossing his hands on the metal table with some arrogance before raising his chin impassively.
Stay calm.
Keep your face expressionless.
Don't say anything.
Stay vague in your answers.
Don't talk about the watches...
Juan had already received the perfect training to pass this interview. It was like another kind of exam.
Even if he just wanted to flip all upside down and tell the whole truth. He had nothing to do with all this. It was all this psycho's fault. And now he was going to have to live with this weight on his conscience for the rest of his life.
Even if he had to admit that he was not particularly saddened by Marina's death. She had literally ruined his life. Because of her, he had lost his group of friends and now he risked prison.
He clenched his jaw as he felt Ivan's gaze on the back of his head before meeting Cristina's gaze.
"Juan ... what can you tell me about this night. The night of the party." The inspector began, somewhat bewildered by the brown's detached attitude.
"It was the end of the year. Every year we have a party. I went. I had fun. I drank a little too much and went home." Enumerated Juan like a kind of poetry.
Cristina quickly noted his deposition before frowning."You said you had fun, right? With whom ? Several people have told us that you and your group of regular friends have stopped hanging out. You even had a violent argument with Angel."
"And does that surprise you?" Juan replied nonchalantly before glancing over his shoulder at Ivan."Come on, Ivan, you know Angel is a hothead. It was just a question of time before we beat the hell out of each other."
Ivan clenched his jaw as he gave a stern look at the brown barely looking like himself."I preferred if you spoke to me like Mr. De La Torre. And my colleague is leading this interview. Answer her."
"All right." Snorted Juan, turning to the redhead before leaning on the table confidently."Well, Cristina-can I call you Cristina?"
The inspector left a weak scoff before leaning in her chair as she motioned for him to continue.
Juan left another smirk.
"Well Cristina to tell you the truth ... Angel has some identity problem." He explained confusing the inspector.
The latter frowned in questioning."An identity problem?"
"Yeah. And Marina knew it." He nodded, trying to smile despite the self-loathing infiltration.
"What do you mean ? What did Marina know?"
He was content to follow his father's orders but he only felt even dirtier. Angel certainly didn't deserve what he was planning to do. Even less Luz and certainly not Triana.
However it was about his family and now Carla was the only thing he had left.
He couldn't afford to do it in feelings.
"She threatened to reveal everything. Including his father and Triana." Juan revealed, shrugging his shoulders, leaving Cristina to immediately glance at Ivan in spite of herself at the mention of his daughter.
"What did she want to reveal?" She asked in a bad feeling.
Juan leaned in his chair, tilting his head to the side."You know Ander Munoz, right? He was Triana's boyfriend."
"What does he have to do with all of this?"
Juan shrugged casually."Nothing much."
He had to cover the tracks.
It was his one and only goal.
"What did Marina know about Angel Velasquez."
Juan looked down at his hands, wedging his tongue between his teeth before looking up at Cristina."You should ask Omar Shanaa. i'm sure he will tell you everything."
