Five years prior
It was sophomore year. College sophomore year. Jung Hoseok was walking to his class, writing down simple ideas. He made his own business when he was only seventeen. It was still trying to get up and going. Hoseok would spend hours upon hours writing down ideas he thought would benefit the company. His family was well off so they would help Hoseok sometimes. His father was very happy that he put his emotions into something productive. People used to always bully Hoseok because he was gay. It was known across his whole high school and people did not like it. There were very little to no gay students in his area. People in college were more accepting of him and he even made some friends, one being Jeon Jungkook who was actually much younger than him. He wasn't an extravert so he kept a very close circle during school. He never dated anyone seriously. He dated to marry and he hadn't found anyone who pleased him. Little did Hoseok know, later on in the year his company would blow up, making him rich over night. He never lost touch with his roots, ever. He kept receipts of people and events from the past.
Park Jimin was different than his older brother. Jimin was a senior in high school and he was kinda known as the school fuckboy. Whenever he wanted sex, there would be girls lined up for him, he was cocky and he knew that. Jimin was bisexual, so there would be times he would be able to get guys too. He never held a stable relationship, he got bored easily and he never thought he would get married to anyone. He was a player too, but girls kept coming back to him for his looks. He told himself that he liked being single like this. He knew himself that he was lying to himself. He wanted someone to give him attention everyday and not just when he was railing them. He wasn't like his younger brother at all. He was just simply one of a kind.
Kim Taehyung, the baby of the family was also a senior and he enjoyed the fact that nobody knew he and Jimin were brothers. Their last names were different because they had different birth mothers. They all seemed to come and go. Taehyung anymore blamed Jimin's behavior on his mother. Jimin's mother was so brutal to him for being bisexual. He hated his mother for trying to put him in a conversion therapy. He had always despised his mother with him. Jimin and Hoseok had it rough with their mothers. Hoseok still hated his mother for abandoning him when he was little, trying to convert him to be like all the other kids. He really hated his mother for that and they hadn't spoken since. Taehyung was okay with his mother, Jimin didn't seem to like her much, but she was still with them, talking to Taehyung the most. What Taehyung failed to see was how she made him against his brothers without knowing. Jimin would bring home a boy to sleep with and Taehyung would find himself being mad at his brother and disgusted. Jimin and Taehyung had been at each other's throats more now than when they were little. Jimin slowly stopped caring about what his brother was trying to tell him. Later on in the year, Jimin landed himself a modeling career, and he made time for his job, but also for his little side hobby. Their oldest brother Jin was in his last year of college and he was dating the same girl since they were in eighth grade. Everyone thought they were going to get married this past year, but were surprised when they never did. Their father was always telling Jin to get married while he was young and to have kids when he was in his twenties. Jin always said that he would get married when he felt it was right. Hoseok wanted to get married while he was still young as well. Hoseok was also very picky on the men he chose to date.
Lee Taemin, He was a Junior in college and was also in training to become an idol. He still went to school to have a backup plan because he was skeptical if he would be able to pass the finals. His roommates he was living with off campus were not so supportive of him at all. They often made fun of him for being gay and abused him almost weekly. Especially this past week, he had gotten his shin beaten and was scared that was going to affect his dancing. Taemin was always willing to meet new people and to hook up. He once dated a guy, and he thought they were in a serious relationship, they had sex, they had gone out on many dates, met each other's friends and family. Taemin though he and this guy were good for each other. They later broke up because his boyfriend started having second thoughts and started saying rude things about Taemin behind his back. The two later spilt up that month and Taemin still hadn't got over it yet. His roommates were a constant reminder of what happened between the two. When things would get hard Taemin would go to the dance studio in his area, most of the time it was always at night. He would occasionally see a young man come in and do his own things. The man was gorgeous and his hair looked so fluffy, he was tall, and he knew how to dance well. He really liked the guy, but sadly he had never had a real conversation with the boy. Little did Taemin know, this boy was also starting to keep track of him too, finding him cute and pretty.
Five years down the road and Hoseok was walking in his company business with his body guard Jungkook behind him. Hoseok was now the CEO of his own business that was the top businesses in South Korea. He had black hair and was very tall compared to his other family members. He was now twenty-five and looking for his next big project, one that would be overseas. Their business was the life line of that part of the country. Hoseok basically had the status of a celebrity at this point. He was rich, and well educated at one of the finest universities. Hoseok was an embodiment of what every girl dreamed of and he was an ideal son for any parent, he was easy to work with and very well mannered. Most commentating on him how special he was or what he did to make the day better for them. Hoseok came from a wealthy family of business, his father who created his own business was once a small little handy store, but now five years later it was the best selling hardware store in his region. As his father, his step mother had been pursuing in it more recently with doing a makeup store. Hoseok went on his own at a young age of seventeen and started his own business that now has him in a better place at the age of twenty-five. He has three other brothers as well, three other men ladies could dream of being with: Jin, Jimin and, Taehyung.
"How's the project overseas going?" Hoseok asked Jungkook going up to his office. His office was respected by many and it over looked the whole city.
"Well, we have most of it done, there is a competitor who wants to take this project however." Jungkook responded.
"Competition huh?" Jungkook nodded his head. "Let me meet this competitor. Call over to his office and ask when the next time he is free to sit down and talk to me."
Jungkook left to do so while Hoseok sat down at his desk and went through his papers concerning a certain business he wanted to acquire. The business does well and has lots of people who are new to the city coming and going there. It would give their business a thirty-five percent increase and the social income would also go up. Hoseok had lots of projects going. His team was filled with the best of the best. He knew he could rely on his team in a crisis. He also had many departments in his group that made everything better and more organized.
"Jungkook, get me as much information on the Min Bakery as you can. I'm looking to acquire their business. Do that for me would you?" Hoseok said into his iPhone 12 Pro while looking over the city.
"Yes I can do that. I'll update you as soon as a can. Would you like to go there?"
Hoseok thought on it for a bit and nodded his head, "Sure, I want to see who works there. Pull the car up in fifteen minutes please."
"Yes boss!" Not only was Jungkook like his body guard, he was also Hoseok's right hand man who would help him out with anything he needed. If anything were to happen to Hoseok, Jungkook would be the next person in his place. Hoseok trusted him with his life.
Hoseok hung up the phone and put it back in his pant pocket. He went over to his desk computer and looked up certain things regarding his company. He had his legal team take down any negative comments or what would count as shameful. He got up soon after that and made his way down to his waiting car. Employees would give him a quick bow passing him, making sure he was decent with them he would stop and talk to a few of them shortly about how things were going. One of his mottos was to always be nice for the people who come and work for you. It's something about the way he does it that has other girls swooning over him.
"Have a good day, fighting!" He encouraged his worker and gave a small bow and left for his car. "Sorry for keeping you. I'm ready to go now." He said to Jungkook in the driver's seat.
"Okay, let's head over." He started the car and soon they were in their way. "By the way boss, the competitor is free this afternoon from three to four-thirty. Is that okay?"
"Yes, get me a meeting with him as soon as you can. Please and thank you."
"Yes boss, and there was an update with the boy you were looking at." People didn't know this about the famous business CEO. He was secretly gay. His family has known and even his brother Jimin was bisexual. He didn't feel so alone with their support but the public would take it to heart and have him removed from his spot as CEO, people in Korea never were for homosexual people. Many people didn't guess this because he was manly. He had his hair just like any other male, his hair was black and he managed to pull off an undercut. He kept his hair parted nicely as well. Perfect for any kind of girl. Or guy.
"What is the update?" Hoseok asked looking down at his phone.
"He's currently attending an arts school for dancing. He wants to be a Kpop idol." Hoseok smiled at his phone seeing some small news about the boy.
"Thank you, Jungkook. How far away are we from the bakery?"
"We're about there boss."
"Okay. Also, keep me updated on him. I appreciate what you're doing. I know it's not in your beliefs but thank you for helping me with mine." Jungkook came from a family who never liked homosexual people, and nothing was going to change their mind. Jungkook had told Hoseok in the past while having a beer that if he ever did like men and tell his family they would probably disown him in a heartbeat. Not everyone was as understanding as Hoseok's father and brother. His new step mother, whom he wasn't a fan of was trying to come to terms with it.
"It's okay, I'm open to your beliefs and I respect that. I just worry if the public were to ever find out. That will be something that would severely affect your company. That would be a big wound."
Hoseok sucked in a breath knowing that Jungkook was probably right. He couldn't help what he felt for others. But he also knew that he wouldn't be able to deal with the backlash of his orientation. He had to play it safe if he wanted everything to go smoothly. He thought that the only way he was ever going to get married is if he was so strongly in love with the person. There were videos in the past of Hoseok being what the public sees as 'too friendly to another male' although they were taken down he still took a huge hit knowing that he had slipped up. He did like that guy and he let his guard down. He learned from his mistake. It led to some scandals that were later deflated. His company was okay during that because many people didn't believe it. If he were to come out himself he knew well his company wouldn't fair well. He could even see some employees being mad over it. Not because he was gay, because their job was now on the line. Everyone who worked for Hoseok knew his sexual orientation.
"We're here boss." Jungkook said bringing Hoseok out of his thoughts. He nodded and got out of the car, Jungkook following him inside they met the owner of the bakery and sat down with him.
"Sir, I'm Jung Hoseok from Jung Company Group. I'm the CEO and I wanted to ask you some questions."
"Ask away." He smiled. The owner, Min Yoongi was perceived to be one of the nicest people around, but under that fake persona he was cruel.
"I've been looking at your company now for awhile and how have your sales been this past half year?"
"Why would you need to know such presidential information?" He asked leaning back in his seat.
"I'll tell you that after I get my answer." Hoseok softly smiled. "Trust me there is a reason for me being here. I hope you can trust me."
"Well we've been doing really good these past few months. People love being able to decorate anything they please. We've been keeping a steady income of roughly five hundred thousand dollars a year."
"Really? So what makes people want to come here so bad? What do you offer that other people in your field don't? What have you beat other competitors on?" Hoseok started taking notes of what the owner was saying making sure to be quick about it. Jungkook on the other hand was taking longer notes of everything being said how the body language of the owner.
"Well I say people come here because they can trust that we are going to give them the best that we can. They like being able to decorate anything they please and if they pay they can get their design on the website and up on the panel where other decorations are to be picked. They like having that sense of freedom of what they buy."
"So you would say that your high prices are worth it? What would you do if a customer was unhappy?" Hoseok was always really good about asking questions and he was very very good at talking to other people.
"Yes most definitely. I think they need to be that way because of what we buy to make their designs come true. It takes a lot of work and talented artists to do this job. If a customer were to ever be unhappy they would get a twenty-five percent discount on their next item they buy. We remake all cakes for free if the cake were to get damaged on the way to the site where it is needed. Customers find that very relaxing."
"It sounds like you've been doing well then. You've been open now for about five years and have managed to get a steady income and steady amount of customers. The reason I've come here was because I'm thinking about acquiring your business to be linked and supported if needed by my company. It would be under my care and supervision and you as the owner can see me any time if you want anything done. You're sure to get a lot more customers and a higher income. My overseas relations will also make sure to promote you well so that more foreigners can come see your business. You can take your time until Friday to think about my offer Mr. Min. After that my offer will be invalid."
"So what you're saying is that you're going to buy my company from me but I still get to be in control of it? I guess I'm a little confused and flustered at the same time."
"That's completely okay. And yes, I would be buying your company but keeping everything the same. You will just have more of a support behind you and your chances of staying open for longer are increased. We have people all around the world who want to invest in the same things we do so you would have some investors coming to see you as well. If that's okay for you. You may take your time until Friday. Let me know if you have any questions. It was nice meeting you." He got up and shook Min Yoongi's hand and left shortly after getting back in his car.
"We have about two hours before we have to meet the competitor. What would you like to do?"
"I would like to go to the dance room." Jungkook knew what room he was talking about. He also knew that Hoseok loves to dance in his free time. He would leave him there for a bit while he ran errands and he would come back to see him just the way he left him.
"Yes boss." He drove to the dance room and Hoseok got out and went into the room that helped him through many hardships. Hoseok got dressed and started some music for him to dance freely to. He was working up a sweat from dancing so much. He had learned some hard choreography before that he wanted to perfect. He had just gotten done with one song when he heard clapping.
"Not bad." The boy said standing in the doorway. He was the boy that Hoseok was watching. They had met here some times before but it wasn't often that he would come here the same time Hoseok were to be.
"Thank you." Hoseok said taking a drink of water.
The boy stared at him knowing he seemed familiar. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
"My name is Hoseok, you may have seen me all over the news."
"Ah so you're that rich businessman who's gay?" His words took Hoseok back some. It had been a year since that scandal.
"Why do you still believe that I am?" He asked the other. The boy's hair was dyed blonde and his natural black roots were sticking out a bit.
"Because, a straight guy wouldn't go to a dance studio as often as you do." Hoseok looked around them and back at the boy. "By the way you got pale tells me I'm right. Am I?"
"So what if I am? I'm still a human being." Hoseok was taking it the wrong way thinking he was being attacked. But in the other boy's eyes he was trying to get close to him because of his own like to men. He couldn't tell Hoseok that however.
"I'm aware of that. I'm not denying you of any human rights. I just guessed and I was right. How long have you known that you are um different?"
"I'm no different than you. I'm no different to the other men walking outside across the street. Why do you make it seem like something forbidden?"
"I know you're not! Gosh I don't know how to say this-"
"I've heard plenty." Hoseok put his hand out signaling the boy to stop. He started walking over to the changing room, "You don't need to say anything more." The boy felt conflicted knowing that he liked the CEO but due to the fact that he wasn't great at talking to someone he likes he made the other mad. Hoseok was intimidating when upset. He seen the CEO leave without glancing over at him. He knew he messed up.
"Boss, you're out early. What came up?" Jungkook asked as Hosoek got back in the car.
"I don't want to talk about it." He glanced out the window.
"You met him didn't you?" Jungkook questioned.
"So what if I did? He expressed his opinions on me already. I don't need any more updates on him."
"Well I had one last one for you then. He is also gay."
Hoseok's eyes widened and he sat up more than he already was. "You can't be serious. Are you?"
"Yes most definitely. Do you still want me to stop the updates?"
"No, actually I'd like you to keep them coming." Hoseok said with a smirk knowing what he was going to do. Soon they got to the meeting and talked with his competitor, Namjoon."Well, I hope we don't face anymore questions or issues on this matter. I want this to be just between the people in this room and if anyone tells this around, I won't hesitate to pursue legal actions against them. Do I make myself crystal clear?" Hoseok asked getting up.
"Oh Mr Jung, I think we could work something out. Let us collaborate with you on this investment. We might be able to help."
"I told you, my company and I have this matter controlled. Do not interfere with my work Mr Kim."
"I think you should pay me back, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so." Namjoon tapped his fingers on his desk.
"What do I have to pay you back from?"
"Well when that scandal got out that you were a homosexual, I helped take that down because I knew you weren't what they were saying you were. You should pay me back and let me help out in this investment."
"Well it's a good thing I'm not, and there's other ways this can be dealt with. This is out of the option. You may get back with me on what you decide."
"I don't think you made the right decision. I have all the info to leak this scandal again. I have the power to make it worse."
"You sure have the guts to tell me your plan, and with that I can use this for legal action against you." Hoseok said holding up the recording he had on his phone from the conversation they just had. An old habit of his was to record anything suspicious. Hoseok got up from his chair and was headed out before he turned around, "Don't forget what we talked about Kim Namjoon." He walked out leaving the other CEO feeling envious and angry. Hoseok had that energy to him that just made him seem untouchable. He walked with grace out to his car and drove off. He even had his own fan sites and news sites. People would come up to him to get the latest information on their investments. People would get photos of him that made him look so intimidating and scary and it just made the girls love him more. Hoseok was okay with them thinking he was cold. He really only got on a personal level with the ones he cares about. Others had no effect on him mentally. He would continue to do him and others would keep on loving it. He was wondering how Namjoon had helped take down such a scandal when they had no contact of each other beforehand. He guessed that he was spying on him like he was doing himself. Business is business right?
