Ana pov
"Mummy!!!!!" I hear my little girl shouts and the next thing, she's hugging me
I just came back from the store and am really tired
"How are you?" I asks smiling
"Am phine" she says and looks at me and that's when I noticed an injury on her fore head
"What happened to your head!" I ask
"A boi threw a stone at me when I was playing with my friends outsidee and it hit my head" she tells me
"Mum!" I call my mother
"Ohh Ana you are back" she greets smiling
"Where were you when this happen?" I ask frowning
"Indoors where else?" She asks
"You were indoors when my daughter was hurt, you were supposed to be watching her!!"
"I was, then I wanted a drink so I went inside to get one and that's when I heard Lizzy crying, when I came out I saw her head bleeding and a little boy was apologizing to her" she explains " It was a mistake" she adds
"Ughh, I come back from work and this is what am meeting at home my baby face bandage like this" I groan
"Its not like it's the whole face Ana it was just a starch, it's going to heal soon" she tells me as I fall on the couch
"Why don't you get some rest, you need it" she says and leaves the sitting room
"Mummy its nof that bad, I don't pheel pain anymore" my baby girl tells me
"For a girl who is going to be two soon, you talk way too much" I smile and carried her on my laps

Its been a week now since Lizzy was injured and since then she has been really sick
Today she's hot, tomorrow she's having a fever, the next day after that she's running temperature, and the next day after that she complains about her stomach paining her
"David is here" my mum shouts
David is my younger brother he stays in Enugu with my other younger brother Luke
Just not to confuse you, David is the 5th born and Luke is the 3rd
Mum gave birth to 8 children the first two has another father, one died years ago
So am the first born now, well from my father's side
"Hey A" he greets and kiss me on my cheek
"Hey"
"Mum told me what happened and I just had to come" he says "how is she?" He asks
"Not good, today she complains of her stomach and tomorrow she's running temperature, I really don't know what to do" I tell him
"Have you taken her to the hospital?" He ask
"No a....am just confused"
"Ok get ready we are taking her there now"
"Ok"

And here we are at a near by hospital, its just a small hospital where average families go to
I explained everything to the doctor and he said everything was going to be fine
That sometimes it happens to a lot of children and that's its a normal thing
The doctor gave us some drugs that she's going to be taking for the main time
He said after she's done taking it, everything is going to be fine
I sigh and gave thanks to God, happy that this is all going to end soon
He gave me a note and told us to the pharmacy
"You can go home after you've collected the drugs" he tells me and I just sigh
"Thank you doctor I thanked him and we went to the pharmacy and bought the drugs and after that we went home

Its been weeks now and Lizzy isn't still getting better, I had no choice but to take her back to the hospital
"My daughter isn't getting better doctor " I inform him
"Did she take the drugs?" He asks
"Of course, she did" I tell him
"She's supposed to be OK after taking it, are you sure she took the drugs?" He asks again
"Am sure, I gave it to her my self" I tell him
"Ok" he says and brought out his spectroscope and uses it on Lizzy after that he starts writing something down on a paper
Is he going to write down prescriptions again!!
"Am sorry ana but am referring her to UBTH (University of Benin teaching hospital) " he says and hands me the paper
"They would be able to help you there"
"What do you mean you are referring my daughter to UBTH?"
"We don't have the right equipment here ana, UBTH will be best for her"
"But you told me that if she took the drugs that she would be OK, why are you now referring to that hospital" I didn't realize that I was crying until I felt something wet rolling down my cheeks
"Am sorry ana, Lizzy condition has gotten worse and she needs a good medical care and we don't have that here, am sorry ana but I have to attend to a patient" he says and leaves, leaving me there thinking of what to do
I stopped crying and called my mum and David telling them that they should meet me at UBTH

"Its going to be OK ma'am but she needs to be admitted" The doctor's says as I explained Lizzy condition to him
"Ok" I says and he excuse himself while I sit down on a chair that was close to my daughter's bed
"You are going to be fine Lizzy, you are going to be fine" I kiss her forehead as she sleeps
