If Addie Lost the Fight

Author's Note (IMPORTANT!! MUST READ TO FULLY UNDERSTAND STORY!!)

So there are some things about this story that I need to tell you guys about for you to fully understand everything in this story. First of all, this is based on my role-play with one of my friends that was started in about 2015. It was based on the Percy Jackson books, but this story does not have much of Percy or any of the other characters from the books in it (don't worry. Seaweed Brain is in this for one chapter, along with Annabeth, his wife. 😊).

The story is about Addie Peterson, who is married to her wonderful husband, Eric Peterson. Addie is a daughter of Athena and Eric is the son of Hades (that isn't really important to the story, but I felt the need to mention it).

This is an alternate-ending to a major event that happened in the role-play. What happened was Eric and Addie were on a date at the ice rink. Eric was not very graceful and continually fell over, with Addie laughing at his ridiculous reactions. Suddenly, another man comes over, about their age, claiming that a beautiful lady such as Addie should be with someone more graceful and who would appreciate her more. Eric got upset but was still unable to stand on his own two feet due to the skates.

Addie got incredibly upset because of this and said she didn't need to deal with this today. So then, in typical Addie fashion, she punched Cody in the face. Cody then said that this was not the last they would see of him, and skated off. Eric and Addie continued their date, having a good time.

Later on, before they even got home, they got a ransom call from Cody, saying they were to come unarmed if they wanted their children (Andrea, Austin, Zach, and Tanner) back. Naturally, the couple was very concerned about their children and angry at Cody.

They meet Cody at the determined location at the base of the Empire State Building. Cody explained the deal: Eric would go with him without a fight, and Addie would have her kids returned to her one at a time. Eric and Addie agreed to play along with Cody's game until their kids were safe. Cody has one of his goons handcuff Eric and takes him to a nearby car.

Cody gives Addie Tanner and tells her to meet him again in an hour outside the Central Park Zoo to get the next child. As Cody leaves, taking Eric and the rest of her kids with him, Addie sits on the ground, cuddling her little baby as tears begin to form in her eyes. Eric's mom and little sister, Fawn, come to comfort Addie. They go with her to the next meeting location. Cody comes out and shows them Eric, who is horribly bloodied and beaten.

Addie is horrified by the sight, but Eric speaks in her mind (oh, by the way, they can communicate telepathically) trying to comfort her and just collapses. He is then dragged off by one of Cody's goons. Addie takes Austin from Cody and expresses to him how much she despises his existence.

Cody tells her of how he had spent years fighting to gain the courage to talk to her since the moment he first saw her at Camp Half-Blood and was horrified when she chose Eric. He recounted the time when she and Eric had wound up inside the Lotus Arcade (with the same effects as the Lotus Hotel and Casino, such as losing time by time going much slower) and knew she would come out eventually. However, when they came out two years later, he was shocked when Eric immediately proposed and Addie accepted.

After recounting his tale, he told Addie to meet him again in forty-five minutes outside that very arcade to get the next kid. They met up at the Lotus Arcade, and Cody revealed that Eric was worse than before. Addie asked furiously why he was doing this to them, and he responded that it was for revenge and to prove he only had foul intentions toward Eric. He gives her Zach and the orders to stay at the arcade for forty seconds since each second at the arcade is a day in real life. He claimed that that would give him enough time to weaken the spell he supposed Eric to have on her mind.

Addie, Fawn and Eric's mom very reluctantly stayed there for the entire forty seconds, Addie growing more and more worried about Eric as the time went on. When they finally left, Cody called and ordered them to meet at the Statue of Liberty. They arrive there and are instructed by one of Cody's goons to grab a rope hanging by the toes of the statue all at once. They did so and were transported up to the torch.

Cody had been talking to Eric about how he had hope of a better life for himself when he saw Addie, but was shattered and raging mad when Eric took her. When Cody saw Addie, Fawn and Eric's mom, he gives Andrea back to Addie. As Addie takes her daughter back, she demands that he give Eric back as well. Cody says he wants to keep Eric to torture him more unless he can have Addie herself.

Addie decides to make a very risky decision. She says she will make a deal with him. Cody is intrigued and asks about the deal she has in mind. She tells him that she will fight him in a one on one combat and that if she wins, he will give her back her husband and leave her family alone forever. If he were to win, she would go with him willingly as long as he leaves her family and friends alone.

Eric's mom tries to talk Addie out of it, but her mind is set and Cody has already agreed to the match. Addie gives her kids to Eric's mom to protect and she and Cody battle.

In the original role-play, Addie, of course, wins and they never hear from Cody again. However, this is an alternate ending to this scenario, and Addie loses the fight. The whole story is what happens all the time after their fight.

A few other things in this story that are important to know. Throughout this story, Addie is pregnant with her and Eric's child. At the start of the story, she is about two months along.

Another thing, Addie has a physical manifestation of her dark side, Shadow Addie, trying to destroy her from the inside out. Shadow Addie was from the Shadow World and was absorbed into Addie as she accepted her Shadow as her potential to become.

One last thing: there are some characters here that are exclusive to just this (other than our main character, of course). There is a character named Felix, and she is Eric's twin sister. In this, she is married to Leo Valdez (sorry all you fangirls of Leo. He's taken in this.). There is another character named Haley, and she is married to Nico (Sorry, he's not gay in this. I don't know why he wasn't gay in the role-play, but that was what my friend decided. No hate please!)

Um... I think that's all that you need to know before reading this... If I remember other things, I'll make more author notes. Anyway, I really hope you all enjoy my story! I've been working on this for about two years, and as of right now, I'm still working on chapters 15 through the end, making them perfect and adding more scenes to them. Again, I really hope you all enjoy this story. I really had a lot of fun writing it, and I just hope it is appreciated. 😊
