Author's Note:  So I'll be honest here. I completely forgot to post this chapter yesterday. But don't fret! It is here now! Enjoy the continuation of If Addie Lost the Fight.

Addie walked upstairs and into her room and closed the door before laying on her bed and burying her head in the pillows. After a few minutes of trying to hold in the tears she kept in all night, she started to cry. She had lost everything in the space of a few hours. There was nothing she could do now.

She cried for a good ten minutes before she heard a familiar female voice in her room. "I can't believe you would do something this foolish... You were always so bright."

Addie looked up and saw her godly mother, Athena, standing in the middle of her room. "I know... It was stupid..."

Athena sat on the edge of the bed. "But I know you. You must have had a reason for doing this... So what's the reason?"

Addie sat up and wiped her eyes. "To protect Eric and my kids. And the rest of my family and friends."

"I see," Athena said. "That makes sense, considering your fatal flaw is love."

"As in I love the people I care about so much I'd do anything for them?"

"Exactly."

"Right. So," Addie ventured. "Will Eric be okay?"

"We hope so. We have him in a quarantined room on Olympus."

Addie gasped. "Why?! What's wrong!?"

"He has what is known as God's Death. It is a disease so powerful, it can even kill us gods. Apollo and Fawn are working to cure him."

"I need to see him," Addie said frantically. She stood and started pacing the room.

Athena followed Addie with her eyes. "Aren't you trapped here?"

"For the most part." Addie agreed. "But this guy seems like he would bend over backward to make sure I'm happy. I'm sure if I ask him..."

"And if that strategy doesn't work for you?"

"Then... I could throw a tantrum." Addie blurted out.

"Seriously?" Athena asked. "Your backup plan is to throw a tantrum to get your way?"

Addie rubbed her forehead, only now realizing it was a stupid plan, but it was better than no backup plan at all. "Look, I-I can pull it off. I can be a pretty convincing actor when I need to be. And believe me. I'm desperate."

"You know, come to think of it," Athena said. "I have never seen you throw a tantrum, ever."

"I usually don't try to. I don't necessarily like to come off as whiny, but if I have to, I'll do it. I mean, remember after Eric died a while back and Apollo was so scared of me he hid in his room?"

"That is a good point," Athena said. She tapped a finger on her chin to think. "I wonder if maybe you could just try to make a portal."

"I'm not sure how that will work, but I'll try," Addie said. She extended her arm and concentrated on trying to open a portal to Olympus, but she seemed to be blocked from doing it. "Just as I thought, I'm blocked from making portals out of here."

"Perhaps I could try to take you to Olympus myself," Athena suggested.

"No. That wouldn't work." Addie began pacing again. "If I can't make portals out of here, what security measures do you think he has in place for keeping someone from taking me out of here?" Addie paused. "Come to think of it, how are you even here?"
