I don't know how long I have been in this locker but I have not stopped crying. I hear the door to the locker room open and then the lights come on. I make myself stop crying. Then I hear the lock on the locker click open. The door slowly opens. I look to see who saved me and I can't believe my eyes. It is Zack."God, what are you doing in here?" he says. Then he gently holds my hands, I try to pull them away but he is stronger than me.
"I won't hurt you." He says. Then he rips the tape off my hands then my feet and last my mouth. He holds out his hand to help me get out but I don't take it. I push myself farther in the back corner of the locker.
"Please come out." He says. "I won't hurt you I promise." I shack my head no. he sighs then reaches both hands in. he wraps his arms around my waist and gently pulls me out. He pulls me onto his lap.
"Have you been in there the whole time?" he asks. I nod my head. "Who did this?"
"Trever." I whisper.
"Trever locked you in there for over four hours?" I nod.
"Why does every one hate me?" I ask.
"I don't hate you." He whispers.
"It seems like you do." I say.
"I really don't." he says.
"Okay maybe you don't but this whole town does."
"Did you know almost everyone is looking for you?" He asks. I look up at him.
"Really?" I ask.
"yeah." He says. "Come on we should get you out of here."
"okay." I say. He helps me stand up. When I stumble he puts an arm around my waist. He leads me out side and to his truck. He helps me get in and then he drives me home.
He helps me get out. When I get inside my mother hugs me.
"Where have you been?" she asks.
"She was locked in a locker." Zack says.
"Where you the one who found her?" mom asks him.
"Yes ma'am." He says.
"Thank you, thank you so much." She says. Then Dean, Tony, Gavin, and Chance run in the door.
"Dylan!" they all say and hug me.
"Bye Dylan, I guess I'll see you Monday." Zack says. I pull away from my friends and family.
"Wait," I say to Zack, "stay."
"Why would you want me to stay? I have only ever been mean to you." He says.
"Because you saved me." I say.
"What is this the guy that through the ball at you?" Dean asks.
"I did and that was stupid of me." Zack says.
"So that means this is the guy you kicked in the balls." Tony says.
"That's him." Chance says.
"I never got you name." mom says to Zack.
"Zack." He says.
"Thank you Zack. Please stay for dinner. You can all stay for dinner." Mom says.
"Sorry I have to get home now that Dylan has been found." Chance says.
"And there is this awesome party we need to go to." Dean says. And Tony nods.
"fine." Mom sighs. "Zack please tell me you can stay."
"Yes ma'am I can." Zack says.
"good." Mom says and claps her hands together. "Dylan go show Zack your room."
"Yes ma'am." I say. I walk down the hall past my little brother's room to my room. "Here it is." I say.
The walls are an off white and I have posters of famous quarter backs. And above the head broad of my bed are news clippings of my old school's football team. On the book shelf I have biographies and autobiographies of quarterbacks and on top of the shelves I have football trophies.
"Nice room." Zack says. "So are you a fan of LSU?" I blush.
"yeah." I say.
"It's bad that you are a LSU fan that lives in Alabama." Zack says.
"My dad is the reason I love LSU." I say.
"Where is he?" Zach asks.
"He's... he's dead." I whisper.
"I'm sorry." He says.
"Kids," mom calls, "dinner."
"Let's go." I say. As I walk out the door Zack grabs my hand.
"If anyone ever gives you another problem you come tell me." he says. I nod.
"Thank you." I say. He smiles down at me. That smile almost makes me melt. Wait, what?
