"So how was cleaning duty?" Bone smirked as he looked at his friends over the cafe's counter the next day. Khai and Two really had a hobby of bothering him while he was on the job.
"Ugh don't even ask. You'll put me in a bad mood" Khai rolled his eyes.
"That bad huh?" Two asked, "Let me guess, Dean didn't show up."
"Ding, ding, ding" Khai smiled sarcastically.
"Well the new kid...Third was it? He showed up right?" Bone asked.
"Yeah he showed up, but now I think I would rather he hadn't" Khai shook his head as he rested his chin on his hand.
"Really? Why? I mean he did seem a bit...I don't know..."
"Unfriendly?" Khai cut Two off, "Yeah, he basically got mad at me for helping him. So much for trying to be a good guy" Khai scoffed.
"Are you serious? Why would he get mad? That's just odd" Bone laughed.
"Well maybe he was having an off day?" Two suggested.
"I don't know, maybe. I mean, we did only meet him yesterday so who knows how he usually is, but still. I was trying to help and all he has to say is I 'shouldn't have butt in'?"
"Maybe he just wanted to take all the credit for helping someone" Bone shrugged.
"Who knows" Khai sighed, "all I know is I'm definitely not going to go out of my way to help that shorty anymore."

"Hey scholarship kid" Dean grinned upon seeing Third enter the classroom. The grin began to fade, however, when Third gave no reaction whatsoever. Khai had to admit, Third's careless attitude was quite amusing really. "Hey, I said 'hey scholarship kid'" Dean repeated childishly as he blocked Third's desk. At this point, Khai would usually step in but hey, if the shorty didn't want help, Khai would give him what he wants.
"Can you move?" Third asked in a bored tone.
"That's it? That's all you have to say? Did you not hear what I called you? I called you-"
"Yeah, yeah 'scholarship kid', I heard. I really could not care less what you decide to call me. Will you move now?"
"Did you really not get the memo after yesterday? I could make your life a living hell you know that? So I would watch it if I were you shorty." Dean looked like he would explode at any minute.
"Have fun with that" Third said with a fake smile. Dean was about to respond but was interrupted by the teacher telling them to take their seats.
"You really don't know what you're starting" Dean said in a low tone as he bumped into Third's shoulder harshly before going back to his seat. Khai observed Third's unfazed expression as he sat down, staring straight ahead. Third really did seem to be fine on his own. He could stand up for himself and he really didn't seem to be scared of anything. However, Khai had this urge to help him? Protect him? He didn't really know what. Khai was just not used to sitting back and watching someone get picked on, no matter how strong they seemed. Khai decided to put all of these thoughts aside, however, the shorty really didn't need his help. Something about how Third seemed so careless peaked Khai's interest though, and it made him want to know him more. Was this really Third? Or was this all a façade?

"Hey Khai, isn't that Third?" Two asked as the three of them sat down at their table after getting lunch.
