"Wait...I'm not sure I heard you right, can you repeat that?" Bone asked with wide eyes.
Khai took a deep breath in as he looked between his two best friends who were now staring at him with a bewildered expression. He couldn't blame them, if Khai were them, he'd be confused too. Seconds before Khai was making a fuss, completely denying the possibility of him liking Third and as soon as said boy leaves, blurts out his true feelings. "I said...I'm gay" Khai swallowed as he observed them both, waiting for their reaction.
"Are you an idiot?" Two facepalmed, leaving Khai blinking in confusion.
"Oh we're not surprised by your confession" Bone laughed, "The only thing we're surprised about is the fact you actually admitted it after denying it."
"I thought we'd have to wait a while, seeing as you weren't ready to admit it a few minutes ago" Two said, "If you were going to say it anyways couldn't you have done it when Third was still in the room, idiot?" Two pushed Khai's shoulder lightly.
"What? You're not going to try and tell me I'm delusional or something?" Khai raised an eyebrow. "I mean, haven't you guys always thought I liked girls?"
"I admit, we did kind of just assumed automatically that you liked girls...and we shouldn't have done that. It's just...you've always been so popular and as a society, we tend to immediately think people are straight which isn't right..." Two started.
"But ever since Third came along, I don't know, we could just tell there was something different between the two of you. It sounds cliché, but the way you look at Third is so different than the way you have looked at anyone."
"At first we thought you really just hated each other, but as time went on, it was clear that you felt so much more for each other. You always play around and try to get the best of him, teasing him and everything. For a moment we thought, maybe you knew Third liked you and were trying to provoke him...but then it clicked that you liked him too...It seemed as though whenever you were frustrated, it was your way of trying to conceal your own feelings. We're sorry...We probably made it a lot harder for you to come out because we always expressed our thoughts that you liked girls" Two said.
Khai looked between the two in awe. Maybe he was a lot better at choosing friends than he thought. The whole time Khai had thought there was no way anyone knew how he felt and now, as he was listening to everything they said, he came to the realization that they had knew he liked Third way before Khai even knew it himself. Khai felt simultaneously exposed and understood in this moment. Everything he had been worried about regarding his sexuality for so long had suddenly been lifted off his shoulders and was now replaced with the weight of his feelings towards Third. Khai was scared his shoulders would break at this point, it seemed that he couldn't be completely free from his complicated emotions even for a second, it was just one thing to deal with after another. "It's okay, I understand" Khai laughed softly, "You really don't have to apologize for anything. Thank you...it means a lot."
"No problem, we're glad you were finally able to talk to us" Bone pat his shoulder from behind the counter.
"Shit... what do I do now though?" Khai sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, "Wait...let's go back a bit, you think Third likes me?"
"Almost positive" Two nodded, "I mean it is just a guess but I mean, we were right with you" Two shrugged.
"I mean that's true...What makes you think that though? How can you be so sure?"
"It's 'the look'" Two leaned towards Khai.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Khai looked at him strangely as he pushed Two away by the shoulder.
