Chapter 0: Why Was I Made This Way?

I look around me and see nothing but fire everywhere. Everything was just a doomsday event. I could hear multiple people's cry for help as their voices would drown out. I had tears rolling down my face as I grab my head and cry loudly. The entire city was wiped out... and it was my fault. The entire population was now reduced to one.

Y/n: "AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!"

I yell out in frustration as several buildings collapse on me. I finally waited. Could this be the day I finally die? I hoped it would. Out from the rubble, I emerged. Countless broken bones that would immediately start to regenerate. I was created out of humanity's greed for power. I was just a simple kid that would live in a lonely island with my parents. We never envisioned that our humble and tranquil life would be destroyed by a single miscalculation.

Y/n: "Mom.. dad... I'm sorry.. I'm sorry"

I knelt down as I was the reason an entire city met its last day on a gruesome ending.

Years later

I open my eyes as I finally arrive at my destination. I yawn as I get off the bus. Of course, I had all eyes on me with my face full of bandages. I could hear all their criticism.

I got off the bus as fast as I could and put my hoodie over my head. I continue to walk by myself down the street as I look around and see nobody. I make my way to a subway as the rain started pouring down. I catch a break to finally rest. I grab my arm as I felt HIS presence trying to run wild again. Ever since that day, I haven't gotten close to anyone. I haven't listen to HIM. I haven't even touched my scythe which I threw into another reality. Yet I could still feel HIS attraction trying to make me lose it again. I growl in pain as I try to ignore it by taking out a chocolate bar and eating. The pain felt like my skin was being peeled off and scorched by flames. I took the bar and thought about nice things. How beautiful the sky was. Kittens. Anything positive to take my mind off this awful pain. After a minute of pain, it went away. I relax a bit and sit up. I look around again and see nobody around.

Y/n: "I guess this place just isnt lively? Time to find a place to-"

I look out and see that it was still raining.

Y/n: "It was raining.. right.."

I grab my face and worry about whether the bandages would hold up being wet. I stay inside the subway and think of what I can do. I check my pockets and see that I don't have much cash on me. The amount I had was enough to keep me sheltered for at least a few months. I didn't know where to go or what brought me here. I just wanted to get away from my past. I look up to see a sign that told me where I was.

Y/n: "Kuoh"

I heard a noise behind me as a man looked at me. He had a smile on his face as he pulled out a knife.

Thief: "Now come on kid. You know what this is"

Y/n: "I-I don't want t-trouble mister!!"

I tried to run but saw the rain still pouring.

Theif: "What's wrong? Scared of the water"

He said menacingly. He played with his knife getting closer to me. I started hyperventilating as I felt HIM try to break through. I tried to keep him from coming out. I closed my eyes and sprinted out into the rain.

Theif: "Get back here!!"

He chased after me but I was too fast for him. I sprinted like my life depended on it since it did. I ran and ran until I stopped at the gates of a school. I could hear his voice getting closer so I snuck in and ran inside the building. I ran through the hallways, scared for my life. I managed to get inside a janitor room and closed myself inside. I heard a door open followed by footsteps. The sound of a knife screeching as it was being dragged around the walls.
