Ch.8 The Other Her

Haruhi

I looked to the others "is there a way not to contact but get back?" I ask standing pushing Igneel off "I'm afraid you can't" Jura replied I pinched the bridge of my nose "there has to be a way out of this world" Carla says "come on you know a few things I'm sure you can figure it out" I say "there has to be some way to get back to my world with MY Igneel Dragneel not some magic using Igneel although he's not bad company at all but you've got to understand that suddenly being without someone I've known for years and vowed to protect and stick by my side no matter the circumstances is waiting for me just like my friends I'm not meant to know of your world nor are you mine or of me and the others" Eve tried calming us down "Haruhi we are trying but it will take time" Lahar says I sigh "I know... take as long as you need but right now all I want is to return to being Haruhi Dragneel not Haruhi Dreyar who is someone I definitely am not" I say calmly closing my eyes "you've got to understand my life was never meant to be like this my parents and gramps are supposed to be buried 20 ft underground NOT living with me although I'm grateful they are alive but this is not my world nor my life it's someone else albiet they look like me and we both share a common name but not lives Lahar I'm a married women who has no magical potential at all and lives a normal life all I ask is that you help get me and Carla to our universe where I'm right by my husbands side not a man who I barely even know these people are strangers to me because I don't know them personally nor do they me they think I'm someone else!" the door slammed shut "someone should probably go and talk to him."

Igneel

I heard movement next to me not turning to look at the person already knowing it was Haruhi "why are you here?" I glanced at her "you loved her Igneel" Haruhi says bluntly not questioning it but stating it "you could say that she's someone I've always loved" I say as Haruhi stares up at the sky "the most difficult task in life is removing someone from your heart..." I turn to her "why'd you say that?" I ask staring at her curiously "I experienced it first-hand many times but I had someone who stood by me through it all" she replied not tearing her eyes away from the night sky "right Haruhi have you ever lost someone dear to you? someone who's means more than a friend or family?" I ask looking up at the sky "if you're referring to any past relationships than no Igneel's was my first but I don't fear losing him the reason for this being I know he won't leave me" she replied calmly "what if he starts see-" "he won't I have faith in him and we've been through so much together that I know he won't do such a thing" Haruhi cut me off "you never know it might all be an act" I reasoned she gave me a sharp look "I know your from another world but that doesn't change that your Haruhi" a sigh escaped her lips as I continued to ramble "who am I Igneel?" Haruhi asks I blinked in confusion "you're Haruhi Dreyar" I replied "do you know who I am not my name but my likes? dislikes? personality? hobbies? do you?" Haruhi leaned forward with every question "er... no" I leaned away from her averting my eyes "then how can you say you know me Igneel Dragneel when in all honesty you know nothing?" she asks "love is not an emotion but a promise" my eyes met her furious turquoise eyes my mouth opened and closed like a fish.

Haruhi moved away from me "sorry..." she apologized as I glanced at her "it's fine" I say silence consumed us "how much do you love him your husband I mean?" I turned to her once she didn't answer "more than words can express" she replied "although I can't say he's not exactly like but Igneel has a tendency to get into fights."

"don't you hate him for that?" Haruhi turns to me blinking in confusion "believe it or not that's one of the many things I love about him his will to fight against injustice or when he feels protective it's a way for me to know how much I mean to Igneel" she replied a smile curving her lips "honestly it's adorable if you ask me although I found myself holding him and calming his insecurities through these years" Haruhi leaned back "you're my world is something he told me before and during the wedding then I guess he understood that he doesn't need to constantly tell me because I already know."

"so you want to tell me how exactly 'I' died?" she asks making air quotation on the I part "during a mission for the council but I decided to tag along with Happy y-she was holding up well until someone shot at her which caused the end of her one of the men from her batch betrayed and currently he's in jail" I explained "ah~ I see you must have devastated and furious at the same time" she didn't look away from the sky I silently nodded "well I should probably get going thank you for the conversation" she stood up dusting her skirt "I hope your feeling better Igneel" she ruffled my pink hair there it is she's treating me like a child again my lips formed a thin line"how old are Haruhi?" I ask as she halts her action of ruffling my hair "24" I grabbed her hand "if that was all then good night Igneel" she started walking my grip tightened on her pale hand "why do you understand me so much Haruhi?" I ask looking back at her "I was once in your place I had a shoulder to lean on back then but I doubt the others have noticed your pain and heartbreak over the women you consider your life so I plan on helping you through it because you can easily be misguided right cause your still young and learning" she replied "I do believe you should confide in your parents and Happy they'll stand by you no matter what for the sole reason you're there son and best friend Igneel" her hand landed on my shoulder patting it before she walked away "you like the stars Haruhi" I look down at my feet "eh?" I heard her heels stop clicking "the night sky is something you like" she continues walking without a word I'm starting to like know more about this Haruhi I smiled.
