"Diya, how long are you gonna take" Arjun said loudly glancing at his watch

"Coming baba" Diya said, she adjusted the strap of her dress, took a last look in the mirror and then walked out of the bathroom. Arjun who was surfing through his phone when he heard the bathroom lock unatch, he turned to look and was stunned to see Diya, she came out in a knee length A-line black dress. Arjun, who was wearing a white t-shirt and a blue blazer, couldn't take her eyes off her. 

Diya smiled nervously, "Is it looking too weird? oh god, I look hilarious dont I?" she said face palming 

Arjun shook his head and grinned, "You make me not want to go to the party"

"It's that bad?" Diya gasped in horror. Arjun walked to her and cupped her face, giving out a snigger, "Diya, you're sometimes really stupid for a smart woman", he then held her hand and pulled her along.

Arjun held Diya's hands as they entered a beautifully lit house. 

"You'll be fine, chill" Arjun whispered to Diya

"don't leave my hand at any point and I think I should be" Diya said nervously. The opulence of the house scared her yet she felt like she was over dressed. They entered a lustrous drawing room, Diya glanced at the crowd and realized that she was under dressed. She saw ladies in sheath dresses, wearing diamonds and pearls and 6 inch heels. She was tall, so she didn't need those high of heels. 

"Arjun my man" came a man with a goatee, he slapped Arjun's hand and pulled him into a hug. 

"Anish! how are you dude!" Arjun said

"Pretty good, what about you ya?" He was holding a glass of champagne, he then glanced at Diya

"Hey, you must be Arjun's friend, Anish, I don't believe we've met" He said flirtatiously, putting out his hand for Diya, who took it and was going to correct him when Arjun intervened, placing his hands on Diya's waist, "Actually that's Diya, my wife" He said with pride

"Oh shit, of course, you didn't tell me you were getting your wife, there's kinda a problem" He said awkwardly hoping Arjun would catch a hint

"Could you give us a minute?" Arjun politely asked Diya as she nodded and he moved a few metres away with Anish

"Dude, Aanchal is here" Anish informed him, Arjun sighed and nodded, "I know" he said. 

He knew that Aanchal was there, that's why it took him so much time to ask Diya to come along but it was also partly the reason why he wanted to bring Diya along. To prove to her how he was in 'love' even if he and Diya didn't believe it. He just had to display some more affection for Diya publicly.

He came back to Diya, holding her by the waist as they went on to mingle with the crowd.

"Arjunnn" A girl came and threw herself onto him, she was kinda drink

"Vanya! oh god, is she drunk again?" He looked at his friends

"Oh fuck off! couldn't you have waited for me to return from the US before getting married" she said slapping Arjun

"Waited for you? SO you scare away every one at the wedding including my wife!" Arjun said playfully

"Oh shut up" She said and then turned to Diya. She excitedly hugged her, "Oh my god!!!! Hi, I am vanya, this loser's friend, by the way, how did this loser land someone like you" She said to Diya, Diya was pretty impressed with Vanya's eccentric personality and knew that the too would surely hit it off 

"It was an attempt to feel like a winner all the time" Diya said as a reply to Vanya, Arjun glared at her and shook his head while Diya grinned back, "oh my god, I absolutely love her!"  vanya said and pulled diya to introduce her to the rest of them
