Chapter twenty three

Realization

The university's parking:

Adham may have wanted to get the Lion down since a very long while ago, but when he fell in love unpredictably with that beautiful red-head that unknowingly opened his heart to the world his motives changed. Adham wanted to get rid of anything that is hurting her soul and he knew that for her to move on the killer must be found as soon as possible.

Rushing the already planned actions, Adham had focused on finding out who A'idah's killer is more than he focused on trapping the Lion. He needed to feel like he helped Ameera, maybe because he knew he would never be good enough for her or maybe because he knew he is not as pure and innocent as she is.

His need to see her better and well constantly pushed him and led him to convince the officer that it was time to trap the Lion for once and for all. It may have been risky. Scratch that. It was risky.

He could've not been able to trap the Lion and would have had no second chance because he would have immediately been killed. However, Ameera was totally worth the risk. If he died knowing that he helped her, he would die happy.

Adham's thoughts were interrupted by the opening of the passenger door of his car. He had been waiting for Ameera as they were going to the gym together. She had finally been forced out of that phase that she was in by her brother a week ago.

"Good morning. I hope I didn't leave you waiting long I missed my alarm."

She looked as pretty as she always looks. She her red hair up in a messy bun that made her facial features pop out beautifully. He tried not to stare long, but he knew he looked long enough to get her blushing so prettily and smiling shyly.

"Good morning. No don't mind it. You are worth the wait. You look pretty."

The cold, silent Adham disappears when he meets Ameera for a while now. He is glad though because it gets Ameera ore comfortable and she smiles more. Just like now, Ameera smiled widely and thanked him shyly.

When he wouldn't stop staring, Ameera busied herself with the AUX cable to connect her phone and turn on light music. He smiled at her shyness and started the engine so that they could be on their way.

...

The gym:

Adham was holding the punching bag for her as she punched all her pent up energy out. He tried not to focus on those guys that are constantly looking at the beautiful redhead in front of him. He failed.

He gave that one that was right on staring a killing stare till he looked the other way. Ameera was oblivious to what was happening to her and her only focus were the thoughts running through her mind. She thinks most when she is assaulting the punching bag.

She is going through the whole events in her mind and observing how she has changed in a short while so much. The socially dependent Ameera has long disappeared. The Ameera that lives inside her bubble only and feels so lonely and anxious changed to a girl who has her own friends and is actually gaining confidence.

Proudly, Ameera realizes how she had stopped caring about what people think of her. She only cared about what her family and Adham thought of her. That silent and cold-seeming guy has unknowingly changed her and made her realize a lot.

His protective attitude towards her and his few smiles and words made her realize that caring and talking to people other than her family can be very rewarding. When she felt the loneliest, he had obliviously insisted on entering her heart and life.

When she felt alone and unsupported, he had been beside her and he had stood up for her without showing her pity. The way he looks at her like she is the purest one out there made her actually start to value herself more. He may not speak a lot but Adham was the one who made her feel interesting most.

She admires how he doesn't care about people's opinions of him. She loves how he doesn't speak a lot but when he does he does so beautifully. She admires how he is so talented yet never shows off.

Ameera may have helped him open up and talk more, but he helped her love herself and that is way more important.

He cares. She wants to spend the rest of her life with him. She wants to call him hers. She wants to be his wife. She loves him.

The punches abruptly stopped.

Adham looked questionably at her; he could understand from her eyes that something was amiss in her head.

On the other hand, Ameera just stared at him. Surprised. She didn't except this. Ameera loved Adham and she didn't know what she should do about them.

As she looked at his caring eyes, she knew that she would never imagine her life with someone else.

Taking off her boxing gloves, Ameera whispered "That's me for today." And exited to the locker rooms.
