Chapter Three

Police Station:

"What do you mean?" Ali yelled to his fellow cop on the walkie-talkie. He was investigating on his friend's daughter, Aidah, death when his friend and a cop ,working with the investigator also working on the case, told him that they took in Adham as a suspect. Yes, he did see Adham's well memorized hand prints on the building Aidah was found behind. Yes, he wasn't in his dorm that night but Ali knew for sure that Adham wasn't the killer. Ali though had to write his findings in the case's files according to his boss or else he wont complete investigating in this case. So he added it to files but took permission from his boss not to investigate with Adham until he find more evidence.

So when he found out that his supposedly partner took him in as a suspect without his knowledge he was furious. His blood boiling he returned the walkie-talkie to the strap and took off to the room Adham was being investigated in. He had to get him out like he always did.

A

meera and Aidah's dorm:

Ameera was crying silently in her empty dorm that reminded her of her sister. A'idah's character were everywhere her makeup, dresses, every single thing around her reminded her of A'idah. A'idah's part of the dorm wasn't organized like always clothes, makeup, books were scattered everywhere. Ameera could remember clearly how they always had arguments on how A'idah's place was so not organized clothes everywhere and books everywhere but never on the desk or shelves where they should be. Ameera regretted ever wasting time spent with her just to get in arguments.

She remember how they talked about nothing and everything. Ameera couldn't imagine her life without her twin sister and partner in crime. When her family came they told her to come stay with them in the hotel and even took permission from the college administration. But Ameera refused her family's request she felt like if she left the dorm she would have nothing to remind her of A'idah. Even though whenever she remembers her, her heart aches it was better for her than nothing at all.

The alarm started to ring as if to wake her up and Ameera felt like snickering.

Adham threw himself on the bed and gave out a long sigh. It has been a long night, getting about things he knew absolutely nothing about was tiring. Oh and how the cops were looking at him suspecting absolutely every single crime. In the end they had a phone call and told him that he can't travel until they found the killer or something like this and asked him about his daily schedule then he was free to go. What they didn't know is he can't travel even after they find the killer.

He stood up to take a shower in the end he stinks.

The college small cafeteria:

She held the steaming coffee in her hand trying to complete the writing assignment. Ameera knew that all of her professors received a message from the administration telling them about what happened and told them to go easy on her. But that's not what she wanted she wanted normal she wanted her life back. She wanted A'idah back.

With all of the people not noticing her even when she wanted them to but now wherever she goes students look some with sympathy and some with curiosity. Even though she hated it she couldn't blame them.

Ameera was sitting in the small cafeteria located in her college. The chair in front of her was suddenly pushed to the back and the small figure of Mariam sat on it. Mariam was one of A'idah's friends and also one of the few Arabians in this college.

"Are you okay?" Mariam asked

"Yes, are you?" Ameera answered back

"No, I'm not" Mariam wailed and threw herself in Ameera's arms. Ameera held her own tears back and willed herself to stay calm. She thanked God that nobody sat in this cafeteria. There is two cafeterias in the college one on the first floor in which every student sat and another on the third floor which had nothing except small round tables, chairs, and a café machine. People had no particular reason to sit there. But Ameera had it was hiding this cafeteria is like the library in high school.

Ameera muttered soothing words to Mariam even though she was the one in need for soothing and comforting.
