Chapter Fourteen

Bonding

Ameera and Jaya's Dorm:

Jaya, Ameera's new dorm mate had long thick slightly wavy black hair. Jaya was a social bubbly butterfly that couldn't handle Ameera's depression. In the beginning it was really awkward for Ameera to have a new dorm mate but somehow Jaya managed to sneak into Ameera's comfort zone maybe it was her talent. Even though Ameera is older than her, it felt like the opposite.

Ameera woke up by Jaya's constant jabbing to her side. Whining Ameera stretched and asked "What do you want? It's my day off."

"Well wake up go freshen up we will go take breakfast outside the campus."

Whining Ameera stood up and went to do as she was told. Twenty minutes both Jaya and Ameera were ready. Ameera threw on a simple yellow cute sweatshirt as the weather was getting colder pairing it with black skinny jeans and black slip-ons with a small black casual purse. Jaya put more effort with her make up but also chose a casual simple outfit she had on a black tee-shirt with black jeans and a casual jean jacket taking with her a black backpack and slipped on her black timberlands.

Turning off the lights they both exited and slammed the door behind themselves, that's after making sure they both had their cellphones and wallets. Apparently, Jaya and Mariam, who clicked the moment they met each other, agreed that they should all, including Kinan and Adham, go out and eat breakfast together. Mariam already called Kinan and Adham and the three were waiting for the sleeping beauty, Ameera, and the sociable butterfly, Jaya, to meet them so that they all go together.

Ameera and Jaya finally reached the rest and they hugged Mariam and slightly "high-fived" both of the men. "I like your hairstyle" It was nothing special just double buns at the top of her head, what they call the "Space Buns" and some spikes of hair down free to frame her face. "Thanks baby." Ameera blew her a kiss. "Where will we go?"

They all looked at Kinan waiting for the answer. "Well" he coughed at the sudden attention. "I know a place they have a really good breakfast menu, its approximately fifteen minutes away, you up to something else?"

"Let's all carpool that would be easier." Mariam suggested.

"Ok then my car is right here." Ameera pointed at her black Ford EcoSport. She Got out her keys unlocked the doors and invited them in. For some reason, Adham felt comfortable enough to invite himself to the passenger seat before anyone can do that. Ameera didn't know if she should be feeling butterflies in her stomach for such a simple act or not, but she was sure that's what she was feeling as a smile tried to stretch her face and failed as she kept a straight face.

"All buckled up?" Ameera asked and her eyes fell on Adham, unbuckled. "Adham" He looked at her in question thinking she would comment about how he sat in the passenger seat but she just pointed at the seatbelt. "Fasten your seatbelt please." Her serious tone made sure he understood how serious she was. Adham did and was gifted with a cute smile in satisfaction. Ameera turned to the road and off they went.

Thirty minutes later they were sitting on a circled booth with a rounded comfortable coach, they already ordered their breakfast and were currently just bonding. Ameera realized though that Adham tends to slip away when they are a large group especially that he is not close to anyone except Kinan and she would like to believe that he is comfortable with her company. Ameera was sitting on the far right edge of the coach Jaya on her right and Adham on her left. Kinan was on Adham's left side and Mariam was sitting beside him.

They talked for some minutes or mostly Kinan and Jaya were talking and the rest just giving reactions except for of course Adham. Jaya was interrupted when the waiter came to offer them their orders. The waiter left and they all started eating. There was silence except for the comments on the food and that's it. After eating, the talking resumed but stopped soon when they decided to play a card game. Ameera explained it to Adham and they played and enjoyed the next hours.

Adham and Ameera walked side by side in a really cute path between the grasses in a park. They all ate and played for some time and then decided to complete their day in the park. It was pretty and Adham was capturing its beauty every now and then sometimes including the girls and sometimes not but mostly he was capturing the redheaded beauty, even if she doesn't realize that. After Adham was satisfied with what he captured they started talking and getting to know each other more and more.

"Why English literature?" Adham asked

"Well I love literature, I've always loved reading. What about you."

"I write poems, that's just it."

"Adham, Ameera, come we will play."

Basketball, that's what they were playing. Ameera and Adham formed a team while Jaya, Mariam and Kinan formed the other. Adham was too good at this though that's what she realized and he was a really supportive team player. So they won, but that was totally Adham's effort.
