Percy came up to me and smiled. Understanding hit me, he was my half brother. "But, I don't look like poseidon" i said, confused.
"I guess you look like your mom." Annabeth said, looking at my strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.
"The prophecy says 'the child of the sea shall lead the way' that means you right?" I asked Percy.
"No, it's you. Rachel told you the prophecy, and your a child of the sea" he told me with a smile. I wasn't sure if I could do that, but i didn't say anything.
"You'll be fine" Annabeth said, knowing my thoughts. "You have some time to train, actually, you should start now." She said.
"Miss Chase is right, you should go now" Chiron said. Percy gave me a encouraging pat on the back. he was taller then me, I assumed he was about seventeen. Which meant he was there years older the me. "I'll cache up with you guys in a little bit. Annabeth said you picked out a dagger, so she can teach you that. If you want help with a sword then you know where to find me." I actually didn't know where to find him, but I didn't say that. Annabeth showed me some basic fighting skills, and i didn't do too horrible. We practiced for a few hours, then she took me too the archery practice field. Lucky was there, and agreed to help me with it. Annabeth left to look for someone else who had 'the dream'
"have you ever done this before?" Lucky asked me.
"I was on an archery team at my school, but it was for fun, not for....fighting" I said.
"Well, it's pretty much the same, so let's see what you got." She handed me a quiver full of arrows, and a bow. I nocked an arrow, drew the string back to my ear, slightly bent my bow arm, and released. The target was farther away then any i had shot at before. I was aiming for the yellow center, my arrow hit the red, which was right outside the yellow. Lucky looked surprised, she said
"great shot! Your a natural, if you hadn't already been claimed, I would say your a daughter or Apollo." I blushed at the compliment.
"Well, I'm not nearly as good as you, i saw you shooting earlier. Your amazing!"
"Not really" she blushed. "But thanks, I've been practicing since i got here, when i was ten, four years ago."
"Ten, wow, that's pretty young to learn how to fight. To me anyway."
"Yeah, I've been hoping to go on a quest for so long. So I've been training as hard as i can, to be ready if my chance ever come. and now it has." We chatted while we practiced, Lucky gave me some tips here and there. On my last shot before dinner, i hit the center, the very center, and Lucky told me I'd be a master archer before are quest, Even though she had hit the center five times during our practice.
At dinner, Annabeth, Leon, and Lucky sat at the poseidon table with me and Percy, ignoring the 'set at your cabin table rule'. Chiron announced that us five and would go on a quest, along with one more. He asked if anyone had had a dream, 'the dream' but no one had. I gave some of my food as offering to poseidon, because I wasn't sure what else to do. Before I went to cabin three with Percy, I found Connor from cabin eleven. I wanted to thank him for being nice to me.
"Connor" I taped his shoulder. He looked surprised to see me
"hey" he said.
"Um...thanks for being nice to me last night....and today." I said, fast and awkwardly. He smiled
"No problem, and congrats on being claimed" "thanks, well good night" I said.
"see you later" he told me. I went to my new cabin, talked to Percy for a little bit and went to sleep.
My last thoughts of the night were: my life was super weird now, but I had a amazing brother, and his amazing girlfriend. I had two new friends. I was going on a 'quest' but i had four, maybe five, other people to do it with me. I was no longer alone, i was finally home.
