I can recall in painfully clear memory how I once greeted death. I shall retell my tale of adventure quickly to you and how I came to know death. It was a bitterly cold day in New England, the smoke from chimneys all over were curling towards the heavens. Now at this time I was homeless, my only dress overly formal and torn in places, holes burned into it from long nights by makeshift fire places. My worn out heeled boots clacked noisily drawing attention to the broken beauty, once a noblewoman now the "scum of the earth" and not even 20 yet. On this day people ran about, the first snow drifting down to blanket the ground in white fluffs. The sun was disappearing below the horizon, a single ray kissed my skin and then all was quiet. I stood completely alone in a too dark alley. A shuffling of footsteps made me whip my head around, a group of men were approaching me. My eyes widened in surprise, they were obviously drunk and with a sorrowful glance I recognized the cheating bastard I once called a husband. He smiled wickedly and mumbled to his buddies, they snickered and formed a semi circle around me. Four men had me backed against a wall, my ex standing in front of them making a total of five. Fear threatened to tear me a part as the overwhelming feeling of being trapped gripped me. I was choking on the feeling, I somehow managed to say in a clear cool and biting voice, "Hello Johnathan, pleasure to see the face of a dirt bag again." I pasted on a smirk, anger glinted in his eyes, the alcohol making it madness. He struck me, blood erupted from my nose and my eyes stung with tears. I refused to cry and pushed the feeling down, narrowing my eyes I stood again. "Come to play I see." He gritted his teeth and grabbed me by my long dark hair, he forced me to my knees, and hit me again. My vision blurred and unconsciousness threatened me. I gasped in a breath to reply with another snide comment, he wouldn't have it and smashed a fist into the side of my head. My ears rang and pain erupted in my head, I refused to give in to the darkness at the edge of my vision. I brought my heel up behind my and kicked him as hard as I could in his manhood. He screamed as my heel caught him and he threw me against the stone wall behind me. I grunted in pain as my shoulder and head caught it. I stood up on unsure legs to be slammed back against it, two of his buddies pinned me in place. I wouldn't give up, wouldn't accept this fate. I thrashed and kicked, bit even until finally recovered Johnathan slapped me. I looked to him, insanity looked back. Fear once again gripped at me, he looked like an enraged animal. I wanted to run, to get away to not look back and pretend I never saw the way his face was twisted in a snare but I cannot. I gulped and stared at his defiantly, my chin pointed up, blood dripping off my chin from his blows. I was strong and determined, I refused to accept this twisted fate. My composure broke as he ripped the front of my dress down, exposing me. His drunken buddies chuckled and urged him on. I pressed myself as much as I could away from him. Johnathan touched me, felt my body and finally I felt the tears fall down my face. I didn't want this, I wanted him to just beat me and leave. He had other ideas. He ripped away the rest of my dress, baring me completely to the winter's night. White flakes of snow kissed my bare skin and froze my tears to my cheeks. "No.." I choked out and he laughed, hit my face again and then went to work playing with his new toy. The men holding me laughed as I cried, I screamed. Hoping to be saved from this fate, I couldn't escape and hopelessness was taking over. He hit me again, silencing my protests and pleas. I bit my lip silencing my screams, tears still streaming down my face. I could barely see, his disgusting face inches from mine as he used my body for his pleasure. I felt dirty, and wanted them to kill me before he could steal the one thing I owned. His bony fingers felt me in places that were never meant to be his. I let one more tear fall, it was over he was going to rape me and leave me for dead. I cried out and screamed one last time, hoping he would knock me out, I wanted to embrace the darkness at the edge of my vision, he hit me but not hard enough. I fell anyway, my vision almost gone now as he kicked me for falling. Suddenly the men holding me were gone, I heard and exchange grunts of pain and then a thump as someone fell unconscious. Johnathan loomed over me, revulsion in his eyes. He reached down and tried to finish what he started. His finger tips were millimeters away from my ice cold skin, I could feel the unwelcome warmth of them but then they were gone another thump and grunt and then all was silent. I tried to see my savoir but couldn't. I gave into the darkness as I was swept up in a pair of strong warm arms, snow still kissed my face but something rough had been layed over my torso and most of my legs as i was carried away. The next thing I remember was laying on a cushion, a blanket sending warmth throughtout my frozen and warm body, my eye lids had fluttered open and the arm around my waist regeristered. I slowly came to my senses and realized with horror that there was an obviously naked man flush against my frozen back. I tried to move away a fresh batch of tears replacing the old tracks. The man snaked his arm around my waist and brought me back to him. I cried out loudly and he woke startled. "Shhh, shhhhh... It's alright." He whispered, his hand stroking my arm soothingly. ***author's note~Want more to this entry? Comment and let me know***
