Present Day
I spent the first half of my shift doing the normal routine of checking in with patients with Alayna and getting everyone set for bed before I began my mountain of charting. I wondered how I was going to get that strange man from earlier out of my head when a very welcomed distraction came into view.
“Don’t look now lady, but I think Dr. Sexy is coming to see you.” Alayna whispered in my ear. I tried to hide the blush coming to my cheeks before I shoved Alayna’s shoulder. I noticed her start to get out of her chair and did a semi panic.
“Where are you going?!” I whispered.
“Going to get us coffee.” She whispered back before Dr. Adrian walked up. “Two cream and 3 sugars, right? Back in a mo!” Alayna snickered and scooted off, leaving me alone with the strange doctor.
“Good morning, doctor.” He raised his eyebrow before following my eyes to the clock and then turned back with a smile.
“Good morning, Gabriella.” He bowed.
“Gabrielle, doctor.” His eyes widened for a moment before he shook it off and smiled.
“Good morning, Gabrielle. My apologies. How is your night going so far?”
“It is going alright. I am a little worried about one of your patients, doctor. You saw him yesterday, I believe. He has gotten worse, I’m afraid. I fear he may not make it through the night. Do you believe you may have time to see him?” I asked, worry clouding my voice.
“I am actually on my way there now, my dear. I will see where he is at and come back to you on it.” He started to head his way, but turned back and snapped his fingers. “By the way, while your friend is away grabbing coffee, I wanted to ask you a question. Any chance of you stopping by the cafeteria for breakfast this morning? I wouldn’t mind discussing a job opportunity I believe you would be perfect for. I need the assistance and I hear you are pondering furthering your education.” My eyes widened in shock. I had only talked with my supervisor about that and I didn’t think anyone else knew.
“I was discussing looking into doing morgue work, yes. An ME is another few years in school, but I had been pondering doing an assistant job.”
“Wonderful. Say, 7:30 this morning?” He smiled. I swear I saw mischief in those beautiful green eyes.
“It’s a date.” I chucked back, for a second wondering where that came from.
“Beautiful. I will discuss our patient more with you after I see him.” He turned on his heel and headed down the hall just in time for Alayna to make it back at my side.
“So? How did it go?” Alayna said, all wide eyed like a child.
“Normal.” I lied, looking back down the hall for that beautiful man to reappear again. I was in big trouble now, was all I kept thinking on repeat in my mind.

London, England.  January 16, 1889
I was in big trouble now, was all that kept running through my mind. This Prince named Soma, the Indian mad that stopped the brawl on the east end was now in our home, bothering my brother at every chance he got. Of course, when Ciel made it clear he was busy and could not be bothered, he decided that it was an opportunity to bother me instead. No matter how many times I made it clear as day that I was betrothed and explained it’s meaning too many times to count. This was surly to upset Adrian if word was breathed to him of this kid. Of course, I took this as a grand idea to send a letter out to him to let him know of this man and his doing, hoping he would barge in at any moment to discuss our wedding with my brother and perhaps take me away for the day on pretense of shopping for our up and coming day.
Ciel began the day with violin lessons while I began the piano. Of course, these men decided to take this opportunity to pray and discuss their faith. They described their goddess and her power to us, and I couldn’t help but laugh at Sebastian’s reaction to the slaughtered demon in the goddess’s hand.
“I wouldn’t bother traveling there if I were you.” I whispered in his ear with a giggle.
“All right! We are done praying. Let us go out!” Soma took Ciel and tried to drag him away.
“I told you! I am too busy to go out today!” Ciel shouted before Sebastian saved him to continue his lessons.
“Then maybe..”
“No.” I answered before walking behind Ciel. “I am not walking around town with you. I have already explained to you, I am betrothed.”
“What does that have to do with you spending a nice evening in my company?” Soma asked stupidly, still unaware of how I was blatantly blowing him off. I groaned and tried to ignore him, following Ciel to our fencing lesson.
“What are you doing now? When will you be done?” Soma kept on Ciel like flies on a horse, bugging and bugging him until my brother snapped, though that is proven not to take much.
“If you need attention so badly, why not give fencing a try?” Ciel throws Sebastian’s sword towards him.
“Aha! And if I win, you go out with me!” Soma jumped up at the chance. I took my seat on the sidelines and smiled, knowing my brother’s will and strong temper.
“If you can beat me.” The took their spots on opposite sides while Sebastian played referee. When the fight began, Soma went straight for Ciel’s leg, not knowing that the foil would bend.
“You obviously do not know that a strike like that will get you nowhere.” Ciel smirked.
“Hey, no fair! I do not know the rules like you do!” Soma shouted.
“Then why did you decide to fight him?” I asked from the side lines, already knowing where this was going to go. Ciel would beat him and Soma would mope like a child for the rest of the day. Or so I thought. I hoped Undertaker would be here soon to take me away before they finished, saving me from the man child turning to me after Ciel was finished with him.
“A fight is a fight. It’s not my fault if you don’t know how to play.” Agni stepped in, taking Ciel down with a pressure point before he could hit Soma.
“Sir Phantomhive, I am sorry!” He went to comfort him.
“What the hell are you doing?” I shouted, jumping from my chair and going to Ciel’s side, pushing the butler from my brother’s arms.
“Haha! You protected your master well Agni! I commend you.” Prince Soma laughs. “That is it, kid. Agni is my servant, an extension of me. Which means, this fight goes to me.”
“Wait, that’s not right.” I stopped Ciel and threw the foil to Sebastian.
“Sebastian is Ciel’s servant, an extension of himself then. If this is the case, the fight isn’t over yet.” I smiled devilishly. Ciel smirks at me and nods.
“Sebastian, this is an order. Shut the brat up!” Ciel stands proudly at my side.
“Very well, I will allow this fight.” Soma hands his foil to Agni. “In the name of Kali, do not lose.” And with that, the duel between butlers began.
