Chapter Fourteen
London, England.  January 16, 1889
We all watched in amazement as Sebastian and Agni dueled. I did not think it possible for anyone to actually come up even against Sebastian in a fair fight. After what I knew about him, I wondered a lot about this butler the prince had.
“Hehehe~ My my, what a sight to behold. I did not think anyone could fight as well as you, master butler. Let alone a normal man.” I jumped momentarily at hearing my betrothed’s voice. “Hello, darling. You look lovely, as always my dear.” I blushed and curtsied to him and smiled.
“You look mighty dashing yourself, love.” Undertaker bowed back to me and smiled. God, his smile always lit up my world.
“Good, you are here.” Ciel pointed out after whispering with Sebastian. “Come. We can discuss more of our plans for you wedding to my sister in my study and I can get away from these fools. Sebastian, bring tea for us to my study.”
“Of course, my lord.” The three of us were thankfully able to get away before the prince was able to pitch much of a fit. We made our way to the study and discussed more about the decorations for the church that my parents were married in, discussed the guest list, and the meal preparations. Undertaker and I had yet to discuss a date and Ciel made it clear that we had to set one soon. It wasn’t much planning done before we were called to dinner and had to deal with the prince again.
“I see you called me here to get more planning done, dear? Hehe~” Undertaker whispered to me.
“That and to get that disturbing prince to leave me be. I cannot tell you how many times I have made clear that I am engaged and marrying another, though he does not seem to take that hint. That, and I think Ciel believes he has something to do with these crimes against the Englishmen.”
“Hehe~ That hasn’t killed anyone, though. None of my customers have been from those crime sprees.” I gave him a sideways glance and shook my head.
“Still, darling, they are hurting people and you know as well as I do that when Ciel is sent on a hunt, he will not stop until the case is solved. He is as stubborn as father was.” I looked down at the mention of my father. Not a day went by that I didn’t miss them with every fiber of my being.
“So when did you say you were leaving again?” Ciel brought up at dinner, right as Sebastian served the main dish.
“Once our business here is done.” Soma said. “I am looking for someone here. A woman. Mina. She was a servant at my palace.”
“Well, Sebastian. Do you think you can find her?” Ciel asked. Sebastian looked at the poorly drawn picture held by the prince and sighed.
“I must admit, even I cannot do much with this.” Sebastian sighed. I chuckled as quietly as I could under my breath and Undertaker gave me a questionable glance.
“What?” I mouthed, shrugging my shoulders. “It was funny.”
“So tell me,” Ciel broke our sideways conversation. “What is this Mina doing here in England?”
“I have known Mina my whole life. She was my nursemaid. The only person who only took care of me. My mother and father barely looked at me. It was lonely growing up I the palace, but I had Mina. She was always there for me. But then, a british nobleman who had his eyes on her kidnapped her and stole her away from me.” Soma said, staring at his drawn picture the whole time.
“In other words, you are here to bring this woman back to India with you, is that it.” Ciel said in his monotone voice. I had to admit, my heart hurt for him. Losing a woman who practically raised him as her own.
“That is right.” Soma nodded.
“Seems like a lot of work, doing this for just one servant.” Ciel spoke. I gave him a sideways glare as a warning.
“No it isn’t!” Soma shouted. “You cannot comprehend my feelings after being separated from her! You do not understand..”
“No, I do not.” Ciel spoke, making me look down at my plate in anger and sadness. “Something as trivial as that causes you great despair? You’re right, I do not understand and I do not care. Some things you cannot get back, no matter how hard you strive for it. Perhaps you are too young to understand that.” With that, Ciel walked out of the dining hall. I held back the tears just barely, finishing my dinner without another word as Undertaker watched my pain in blissful silence, knowing if he has said a word my tears would come out like a waterfall with nothing to stop it.
