Yerin pouted a bit as the gentle breeze attacked her from her right, blowing a few leaves at her. She sighed, looking around the neighbourhood. Sowon said that it was the street she resided in, but the neighbourhood looked rather posh. Everyone seemed like they were extremely rich. She felt rather out of place. Well, she was probably in a good enough financial situation to afford a house here, but that was beside the point.
Yerin soon found Sowon's house, seeing the number '121' in front. Nervously, Yerin neared the house. As promised, there were no cars in the driveway. Yerin pressed the buzzer and after a few seconds, the gate opened.
She walked in, seeing Sowon standing on the veranda. The older wore a large brown sweatshirt with unmatching grey sweatpants. Sowon smiled widely and waved as she walked closer to the red-haired girl.
Sure. it did not match but it still looked good on Sowon. The younger thought, smiling at the sight of the girl she had fallen so badly for.
"Actually..." Sowon stopped, taking both of Yerin's hands in her own. "Uhm, I think I should have done this a while ago, but because I'm such a coward — and maybe an idiot as well. I think it was really obvious to everyone and to you as well, but I was an idiot." Yerin gripped her hands back, gently as possible. "Just say what you need to say."
Sowon looked down, shyly and bashfully. "Uhm... I... I like you. A lot. I can't even say 'like'. It's more... than that? I don't know what to say. It's too much to say 'like' and it's not enough to be love just yet. I want to be with you. To tell you every day that I... that I love you. I want to kiss you, and hold you close, and go on cheesy dates. — I want to dedicate every second of my time to you and just be with you.
Yerin slowly started smiling, the grin on her lips growing larger at every second. "I... I like you too. Enough to say that I love you. It may a little premature, but I'm ready to say that I love you."
Sowon smiled softly. "I'm glad you're there already. I'm ready too, but I want to fall further in love with you first. But please — be mine, Jung Yerin."
Yerin let out a little laugh. "I'd want it no other way."
Sowon let out a little sound as her gentle smile turned into a grin. "Oh my God, I'm dating the prettiest girl in the entire world."
"How do you know I'm the prettiest?, Umji is clearly prettier than me" Yerin scoffed. Sowon rolled her eyes, clearly denying the statement, but preferred not to comment. She rather stared into Yerin's large child-like eyes, a gentle smile playing upon her lips. Yerin leaned forward, putting a gentle kiss on her cheek.
Sowon blushed bright red after Yerin retracted slowly. "Wh-what—"
"If we're dating, then I'm allowed to do that," Yerin replied, rolling her eyes slightly. "I don't want to stay too long — just in case that man in the white car sees us together again."
"Just to clarify, that was my father."
"He's a meanie."
Sowon laughed" He won't be back for a few hours though"
.......................
Yerin closed the front door to her house with a dreamy sigh. Her mother shot her a strange look before continuing her cooking. "You're rather late today. Where were you?"
Yerin smiled. "Falling in love."Her mother raised an eyebrow before smiling. "Really? Tell me about it over dinner, okay? Did you do your homework wherever you were?"
"No, I met with a friend. She was absent today, so I went to see her," Yerin answered. "I just need to complete my social studies worksheet and then I'll be with you downstairs, okay, Mom?"
"Not a problem, dear," Ms Jung smiled.Yerin rushed upstairs, dropping her backpack onto her bed. She pulled off her school clothing, tossing it into the laundry basket. She pulled on a large baby pink hoodie and sweatpants. She took her math notebook out of her backpack and walked over to the desk by the window. Yerin took a pen from the many gel pens in a container beside her former container before getting distracted by the numerous about of letters Sowon had written for her.
Yerin got distracted and picked up the pile of letters, her smile getting bigger and bigger as she thought of how sweet Sowon is, how she was the luckiest person to be dating Sowon.
