School ended soon, and Yerin hadn't seen Sowon yet. She wouldn't lie to herself by saying that she wasn't worried, but she was a bit concerned about the fact that Sowon didn't tell her that she wasn't particularly respectful with teachers.
"Yenni-ah!"
The voice actually almost wanted to make Yerin roll her eyes. But she couldn't really do that because the person that had called her was none other than the girl that everyone loved, but it seemed it was for the wrong reasons. Sowon ran up to Yerin, her red hair bouncing as she ran.
"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at the principal's office?" Yerin asked, looking away from his girlfriend.
"We need to talk," Sowon said, skillfully avoiding the question.
She took Yerin's hand in her own and they walked off. Yerin actually wanted to pull away, but as Sowon's fingers intertwined with her, she was reminded that Sowon wasn't just a loudmouth that was popular. She was sweet, gentle, funny, adorably idiotic — and she was dating Yerin
"J-just talk," Yerin stuttered out, gripping Sowon's hand tightly for a moment to get her attention. Sowon sighed, slowing down the movement of her legs and facing the smaller blonde girl.
"I'm guessing you don't know what type of person I really am, huh?" she asked softly."Sowon, I can handle casual trouble, like talking too loud or even talking too much, but swearing at a teacher is a bit much," Yerin said, letting go of Sowon's hand to cross her arms. "I never thought that you'd do something like that. I thought you were perfect—"
"No one's perfect, baby," Sowon stated bitterly. "No one is goddamn perfect in this fucked up world. But everyone seems to think that Hwang Eunbi is the light of the fucking world. She's the only remaining perfection in this entire universe, isn't she? Everyone loves Eunbi, don't they? I'm in her fucking shadow and everyone only noticed that I'm alive when I make mistakes. Even then, I'm still in her shadow. Why the fuck should I try and become a better person when it won't even be recognized? I'd rather stay a fuckup so that at least people will know I'm around."
Yerin widened her eyes as the pieces slowly clicked together. "Sowon, you're not in her shadow. She's just got a bigger presence. You need to find your potential and do your best. How can you reach a goal when you keep looking at an obstacle? And you're not a fuckup, or whatever you think you are. You're amazing. You're cute, pretty, really funny when it comes to it, and you have a smile of a god. It could be love speaking, but I'm serious."
Sowon looked down, anger clouding her eyes. "Even so, I'm still underneath Eunbi."
"Sowon, she's older than you! Of course, everyone is going to think she's better!" Yerin exclaimed. "But don't let it get to you. You're strong — I know you are. You're just... incredible. And that's what I love about you. The fact that you push on ahead, despite being 'in someone's shadow'."
Sowon stared at her for a short moment before a gentle smile overcame her once dark features. "I love you so darn much."
Yerin smiled. "I love you more."
Sowon nervously kicked a stone from its position on the ground. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that. I'll try to be more respectful to teachers."
Yerin crossed her arms. "Do you bully people?"
Sowon hummed thoughtfully. "I'll stop that as well."
Sowon gasped. "Oh my god, you're horrible!"
"I'm not an intense bully!" Sowon defended herself. "I do small stuff. Not enough to make them wanna kill themselves or something."
"You're a meanie, I regret dating you " Yerin shook his head. "Nonetheless, I'm stuck with you now."
"Stuck? That's a mean way to put it, and don't you dare to leave me" Sowon pouted falsely. Sowon kissed her cheek gently and a wide smile spread across Sowon's features immediately. "Fine — I'd rather be stuck with you than anything."
Sowon held her hand out. "Let's get smoothies.""Why smoothies? its literally just grass and yoghurt." Sowon questioned. Yerin smiled, choosing to ignore the older and laced their fingers together.
