Scarlett's POV

"You're hurting me Ad"

I struggled to get those words out, fighting the pain in my arms. Tears were streaming down my face in an uncontrollable amount. My lips were quivering in spite of me biting hard onto them.

He looked up and his bloodshot eyes pierced through my watery ones. He tightened his grip on my wrists and twisted it further. I let out a scream but half of it was muffled when he covered up my mouth with his hand.

His grip tightened more and dared me to let out any noise.

I started feeling suffocated beneath his hand which was still covering my mouth and also pressing down my nose. I tried harder to get even a tiny bit of air but he pressed his hand with more force to keep me silent.

My body shook aggressively. I couldn't breathe. It felt like somebody was choking me.

I cupped both my hands around my neck, trying to get some air into my lungs, coughing and wheezing powerfully.

"Scar! Scarlett, wake up!"

Emily?

I finally got some air in and took a few deep breaths. My eyelids fluttered open and everything in front of me was hazy.

I could see three heads looking down at me, their foreheads creased and eyes full of concern. It took a couple of seconds for my vision to get adjusted. I sat up, looking around, trying to take in what just happened.

"Are you okay, Scar? Are you having them again?" Delancy spoke softly, searching my eyes for an answer.

I shook my head side to side, not being able to form any words. Blakeley engulfed me into a bear-hug from the side and nuzzled her head into my hair.

I sighed deeply and rested my head on top of hers. Emily held my hand in hers and asked me, "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Yeah, it could help if you talk it out," Lance continued.

I shook my head again, wanting to wipe out every single detail of the nightmare. "Let's just watch a movie, you girls up for it?" Their faces held questioning looks on my sudden change of topic. "I just want to forget about it. It has been a whole year since I had any of those. Maybe it was the break up that triggered it."

They looked at each other as if contemplating whether to leave me be or force it out of me.

Thank heavens, they decided to drop the matter. We watched a rom-com and reminisced our childhood memories until we fell asleep again.

When I woke up, the girls were not in my room. I heard chatter coming from downstairs and headed that way after brushing my teeth.

The mouth-drooling smell of chocolate pancakes and waffles surrounded the house. The girls were sitting around the island in their pyjamas.

Grace, our housekeeper since as long as I could remember was, was working her chef-magic on our breakfast and also laughing with the girls. "Hey, good mornin'! What are you guys giggling about?" I asked, taking a seat on an empty chair.

Delancy giggled and answered, "We were just telling Gracie about the stunts you pulled at Noel's party." I groaned hiding my face in my hands.

"It wasn't me! It was drunk me," I tried to cover up.

They looked at each other with blank faces and a split second later they were laughing like maniacs. When they finally sobered up, Grace put down our breakfast in front of us and left the kitchen to carry on with other errands. We fell into a comfortable silence and wolfed down our breakfast.
