Scarlett's POV
The bell rang, signalling the end of the final lecture of the day. The teacher spoke louder, reminding us of the deadline of the first assignment. I packed in my textbook and pulled out my phone and car keys from my bag.
I headed towards my locker to pick up a few things I would be needing for homework. It was not until I opened my locker when I realised Elijah had been walking right behind me. I jumped a couple of centimetres in the air when I turned around to notice how close he was standing to me.
I pushed him away gently by pressing my fingers on his chest. He raised his eyebrows in reply, I rolled my eyes and shut my locker.
He continued walking behind me silently with his hands in the pockets of his pants like some loyal dog. I stopped suddenly and his rock hard chest bumped into my back. I turned around and folded my hands over my chest.
"Is there something I can help you with?"
"No?" He replied, his eyebrows furrowing up in confusion.
"Then why are you following me?"
"I am not."
I huffed and walked a little more ahead, with him right behind me. I stopped again a few feet away from my car but this time he did not bump into me. I turned around and opened my mouth to launch a retort when he interrupted me.
"Why are you following me, Louise? Stalker much?" He spoke in a high pitched voice, blinking rapidly with his muscular arms folded over his chest; just like I did a few moments ago.
I gaped at him. I do NOT sound like that.
"What do you mean I am a stalker, you are the one following me to my car."
"Well, thank you for telling me what your car looks like but FYI, my car is right beside yours. Therefore, I wasn't following you, merely walking towards my own car and you just happened to be in front of me."
He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly with this hands still in his pockets. I mentally slapped myself for forgetting where he had parked his car. I forced a smile towards him and proceeded to unlock my car.
Just as I was about to sit in, he asked me what my plans were for today. "What makes you think I'd tell you?" I countered.
He raised his brows in response. "I'm not free. I have quite a lot of errands to run."
I quickly entered my car and started it up.
I was not exactly lying when I said I had errands to run.
About ten minutes later, I was at a red light when my phone rang. I picked it up keeping my eyes on the signal.
"Hey! Can you pretty please pick up a grande, nonfat latte with caramel drizzle for me? I just passed Starbucks."
"You can make a U-turn, Lance," I replied, putting the phone on speaker as I drove past the green light.
"I really have to pee, Scar. Take it with you to your house and I'll meet you there. Bye!"
I tried to tell her that I did not have my wallet but the call beeped to an end. I sighed and pulled over near in an empty spot opposite to the shop.
I shuffled through my bag in search of any fivers. I found a crumpled tenner but I also found the purse I took to Noel's party. I opened it to find my black Saint Laurent wallet. I picked it out and found all my money still in it.
My mind clouded with confusion.
There is proof that I had left it at the stranger's house. I mean, I clearly remember not carrying my purse back to Emily's. I did not have it in my backpack until the last lecture. And I know that this stranger was from our college because obviously, he was at the party.
