Scarlett's POV
I wobbled out of bed with some effort but I was still not sure if I should grab the toothbrush or surrender myself to slumber.
It was the final year of the prison for teens, also known as college and it is, of course, the first day.
After procrastinating for a good fifteen minutes on social media, I finally got myself out of my oh so comfortable bed and neatly tucked the bedspread and arranged the pillows. I slumped towards my en suite and freshened up.
After taking a shower, just as I was about to enter my closet my phone blared with the 'I'm a little teapot' ringtone, indicating my boyfriend's incoming call.
"Good morning m'lady, are you ready for college ?"
I inwardly sighed at the mention of college. "Yeah, I'll be down in ten, also, please tell me you have coffee."
"Yup, your usual," Jay said popping the 'p'.
"Okie, thanks babe, I'll see you soon. Bye." I ended the call and briskly walked into my closet to hunt down my uniform.
I quickly squeezed my fat arse into the skirt, put on the milky white button-up shirt with a deep red tie and a pair of black Sergio Rossi stilettos. Shoving in my binder and water bottle into my backpack, I made my way to the kitchen to grab a granola bar.
I put my hair into a somewhat messy ponytail using the hair tie on my wrist and tied my tie neatly. Greeting Joey and Hasan, two of my dad's bodyguards, with a polite 'good morning', I opened the door to Jay's white sedan that stood right in front of my house.
Jay and I had been dating for almost a year. He was one of the popular jocks in our school who seemed to hook up with anything having a fanny. When Jay asked me out I honestly thought it was a joke because Jay was a literal player and I was not a girl who trusted people easily, especially after what Ad- nevermind that.
Jay and I were friends since seventh grade. He played a number of girls in eighth and ninth grade and he asked me out at the beginning of eleventh grade. Don't get me wrong, I was a bit sceptical on agreeing to be with him.
Becoming his girlfriend was like being on cloud nine twenty-four seven. It was literally the smallest things he did, like bringing me tons of chocolate and his hoodies when I was on my period or when he showed me off to his friends.
"Hey," I said bending over to give him a quick peck and picked up my coffee from the cup holder.
"You look cute," he replied making a u-turn and headed towards school.
"Thanks, but the spell breaks at midnight." Jay chuckles softly and we settle into a comfortable silence. Fifteen minutes later, he pulled into a free space in the school parking lot.
I took a big sip of the bitter goodness in my hands and turned on my seat to look at the super cute brown-haired boy who asked me out in a very iconic way by standing on the centre table of the cafeteria and singing to me. I grinned at him as he made his way towards me to lay a soft kiss on my lips. Jay pulled away and said, "I'm opening your door, stay right where you are."
He pulled his bag over his shoulders and jogged around the car to my door and opened it, exaggerating the whole chivalry act by bowing down and extending his hand to me.
"Why thank you, kind sir," I giggled and took his hand to get out of the car.
I had almost forgotten that we had to attend college if it weren't for the annoying sound of the bell going off; indicating that we were late. So much for expecting to stay out of trouble.
