(Request from Anon: Omg could you write something where May is practically begging Peter to ask Stark!reader to prom or homecoming (because she's homeschooled and doesn't get those opportunities) but he's a hundred percent sure she hates him but it's the complete opposite?)

Watching the lab feed without audio I could tell Peter was yet again rambling and gesturing heavily about something to Dad. That boy radiates awkwardness.

After finishing up a paper for class I started to look through camera feeds. First thing I 'investigated' was tonight's dinner. Finding it acceptable I looked at the living room to see who was coming to dinner tonight. Now looking at the three in the lab I thought about trying to get the audio feed working. A few minutes of watching them talk animatedly I decided to see what all the excitement is about. There was a sound of static then Peter's voice came through.

"-absolutely sure? What if she says no? I mean there are so many factors to think about. Will there be enough time for her to get everything? No. Wait. I just don't think she will say yes." What on this Earth could they be talking about.

"Kid, just do it. You mentioned this a month ago. Maybe if you asked her a month ago you would be worried about 'time.'" Dad put down whatever he was working on to look directly at Peter. "Don't forget she's a Stark. Even if it was in an hour there would be enough time." I must be half asleep to not notice they were talking about me. Now if I could figure out what it is exactly Peter is supposed to ask me.

"I-I.." Peter trailed off and looked around the room seemingly thinking up a plan to escape from what they are talking about. Peter stops when Dad scoffs and goes back to working. "Okay, I'll do it."

Not looking up he replies, "Today."

"Wha-. No, I can't do this today. I have nothing prepared."

"This is not an exam. Just go and ask her." Just then he looks up to the camera. "I'm sure she'll meet you in the living room and be very polite." Dad waved to the camera. "Now you two get over to the living room." Peter walked toward the elevator with a contemplative look to his face.

I walk into the living room and Peter stands up from the couch. Guess the others are all in the dinning room now. "Let's get to this Parker." I diverted my eyes from looking at him while he shifted around and ruffled his hair. Peter had a way to look adorable that I don't think he realizes it.

"Maria." Peter cleared his throat twice. "Maria. There is something that I wanted to ask you." He stopped again and looked at me as if I could help him with whatever he was trying to ask. I just blink at him and put a hand on my hip. "Do you think- Next Saturday would- If you are free-"

"Good grief! Parker just ask me the question!" I stare him down and almost smile at the blush that spreads over his nose and cheeks. I can't help yell at him when he has such adorable reactions.

"Go to prom with me?!"

I blink with my eyes and try not to let them widen too much. "Are you telling me or asking?"

Peter takes a sharp intake of breath. "I meant to say. I'm sorry. Forget that." Peter stopped again and closed his eyes for a second. "Maria, Will you go to prom with me? It's next Saturday. I know you've been to a lot of really big parties. I didn't mean that you party a lot." I don't want to interrupt but the words seem to keep coming. "You being homeschooled I thought you'd like to do something like a normal teenager. Not that your are strange. I mean."

"I'll go with you."

"It won't be like they show in the movies. You will?"

"Yes, now don't make me regret it." I tap my finger to my chin. "Wear a champagne tie. I'll see you next Saturday." I turn around and walk back to my room. Quickly I pull up the website I had been looking at dresses and put the order in.
