It was a cold, winter day in the city. Shoto Todoroki was out shopping for the holidays. He held his shopping bags with his purchased goods tightly as he walked down the halls of the mall. As he walked down the halls, he noticed couples holding hands and kissing. Being soulmates, basically. Shoto had waited fourteen whole years, hoping his soulmate would come and make him whole again. Make him happy again.
But eventually, he had lost all hope. All the love he once possessed had run dry. The least he could do was celebrate the holidays and pretend to be happy.
The last store he had stopped by was a bubble tea store. He was parched and had some cash left to spare. He opened the door to the little shop. There was the cashier and one other boy there. He had messy green hair. He looked familiar but Todoroki couldn't put his finger on it. He brushed it off and waited in line to pay.
"Excuse me sir, but you are a dollar short," the cashier said to the guy in front of him. The guy gasped, laughed nervously and began digging through his yellow backpack. Beads of sweat developed on the back of his neck. "Uh oh, I think I'm short," he stared back at Shoto. "Sorry for wasting both of your time," he said quickly before walking towards the door. Shoto didn't know why but he walked quickly towards the teen and grabbed his wrist. The greenette turned to look at him.
"I can pay for it. I can spare a dollar," Shoto said. The greenette blushed and smiled. "T-Thank you. I-I hope it's not a problem," he thanked Todoroki, his body easing. Shoto couldn't help but smile softly, making the boy blush more. Todoroki nodded and walked back to the cashier, still holding the boy's wrist. He noticed this and let go.
"What did you want," Todoroki asked politely. The boy pointed nervously to the menu towards the green apple. Todoroki nodded, ordered the drink and his own, and payed. He looked down at the teen, who was fidgeting and playing with his fingers. "What's your name," Todoroki asked as the words slipped out. The boy blushed.
"I-Izuku! Izuku Midoriya," the boy grinned. Todoroki froze. It finally hit him. He remembered when he was younger and he had a dream about his soulmate. The boy in the dream called himself Izuku and he had the same green eyes and messy hair. He was lost in his thoughts when Midoriya tapped his shoulder. "What's your name?," he asked nervously. Todoroki snapped out of his thoughts and smiled softly.
"Shoto Todoroki," he answered quickly. Midoriya smiled and took a sip of his bubble tea. "Thank you, Todoroki-kun! You're a true hero," he beamed. Todoroki blushed and looked away.
"U-Um, thank you, Midoriya," he thanked the bubbly teen, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. He looked at the boy below him, who was sipping his bubble tea carelessly. Todoroki felt an aura from him, something that almost made him gravitate towards Midoriya. He stared, walking next to the greenette unconsciously. His thoughts fluttered through his mind like a group of butterflies, following the others in a graceful movement.
"T-Todoroki-kun? Are you okay?," he heard the boy's sweet voice ask. He blinked back to reality and stared at his surroundings. He had followed Midoriya out of the mall and into the parking lot. "Y-Yes, sorry! I just got lost in my thoughts," Todoroki blushed. Midoriya smiled nervously and nodded.
"Well...I should...ummm...get going now. It was nice to meet you! Thanks again," Midoriya said before walking away. He waved rapidly at Todoroki before disappearing into the haze of cars. Todoroki stood there for a good five minutes, compiling what had just happened. He had just met his soulmate. And even after only knowing one another for an hour, Todoroki felt a strange feeling towards the teen.
Izuku Midoriya, a name that would be forever engulfed in his brain for as long as he lives.

"Shoto? You've been acting weird all day. Is something wrong?," Fuyumi asked, worry in her tone. Shoto could barely hear his sister's words. Maybe it was because he wasn't paying much attention. All he could see was Izuku Midoriya. His wide, bright smile. His freckled cheeks. His forest green hair, and the happiness he brought Shoto.
Fuyumi gasped. Shoto looked up at her in confusion. "What? Did something happen," he asked, finally giving her his attention. She smiled and her eyes glossed over.
"You found your soulmate, didn't you?"
Shoto blushed. "I-I don't know if he's my s-soulmate-"
"It's a guy?! Awww!~ My little brother is gay!," she squealed. Shoto flushed harder. He shook his head rapidly in denial. She giggled and hugged Shoto.
"I was just messing with you, bro! I'm happy! What's his name," she asked, almost looking as bubbly as the greenette Shoto had fallen for.
"Umm...his name was Izuku! Izuku Midoriya," Shoto told Fuyumi. She squealed louder and bounced happily like a child on Christmas. "That name sounds so cute!," Fuyumi said.
Shoto chuckled at his sisters excitement. Shoto had to admit it. He was excited too.
He had found his soulmate.
There was still hope for him.
He still had a chance to find true happiness.
