Izuku woke up to a small breeze, getting tangled in his messy hair and brushing against his cheeks. The day was too bright to be normal, but Izuku didn't think much of it. At least, not at first. At first, he just assumed someone with a luminous quirk was walking around, but the light never dimmed. In fact, it got brighter. Midoriya stood there, unable to move, too drawn to the light to move an inch. A few minutes passed but they felt like hours. Midoriya played with his fingers in boredom.
"Izuku," a voice called. Midoriya turned towards the voice. A boy stood there, his back turned to Midoriya. Suddenly, Midoriya began to walk towards him, inching closer and closer.
"W-Who are you?," Midoriya asked quietly. The boy tensed in front of him and turned to face Midoriya. His face was blank at first but then became warm and passionate.
"Izuku...I thought I lost you...where'd you run off to?," the boy asked, embracing Midoriya. The greenette blushed and returned the hug. The boy was both warm and chilly, the balance of the temperature easing Midoriya's mind.
"I-I don't recall running off...," Midoriya said quietly. The boy chuckled and tightened the embrace a little.
"Sorry, Izuku. Your soulmate was just worried," the boy said, his tone sounding a little like a whine. Midoriya flushed.
"M-My soulmate?! W-Who is it, if you don't mind me a-asking," Midoriya stuttered, holding onto the boy shoulders.
The boy lifted his head and looked at Midoriya. He looked confused. "Your soulmate?," the teen asked, taking both of Midoriya's cheeks into his hands. Midoriya flushed. "Y-Y-Yeah...do you know?," he asked, nervous.
"W-Well...you're soulmate is...," the teen began. But suddenly, he trailed off. He let go of Midoriya and walked off into the light. Midoriya stood there, watching him walk away. He wanted to follow, but he wasn't sure why. Without conscience, he ran after him.
"W-Wait! Who's my soulmate?! You never told me...," Midoriya yelled after the teen.
The last thing that Midoriya saw was a red string, gliding behind the teen. Midoriya raised his arm to grab the teen, but the world faded into darkness at that moment.

"Izuku! Wake up! You'll be late for your first day of school," Inko Midoriya called for his son. Midoriya fluttered his eyes open. There was a small bit of light shining through the curtains on his windows. Midoriya sat up from his slumber, rubbed his eyes, and processed his mother's words.
"I TOTALLY FORGOT!!!," Midoriya screamed as he jumped out of his bed. His U.A uniform was laid out on his desk chair. He grabbed it, ran to the bathroom, and changed. The tie was put on terribly but Midoriya shrugged it off. He brushed his teeth and ran to the kitchen. His mother waved at him humbly.
"Good morning, Izuku. You look wonderful," she said from the stove. Izuku smiled. He grabbed a piece of toast from the table and wolfed it down quickly. He waved his mother goodbye before he sped out of the door into the streets. The city was not as crowded as he would've thought but he wasn't complaining. The sooner he got to class, the better.
After walking ten minutes, Midoriya stood in front of it. U.A Academy. A school crucial to become a great hero. The school was more intimidating than it looked on the newspaper or on TV. Midoriya took a step into the campus, then another, until he was full power-walking towards the gates. He was probably about ten steps left from the front doors when a familiar voice screamed at him.
"DEKU?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, NERD," Bakugo screamed. Midoriya heard him running behind him, each step full of rage. Midoriya turned cautiously. Bakugo's ruby red eyes glared into Midoriya's emerald green ones.
"I-I got in, K-Kacchan...isn't that great," Midoriya asked, trying his best not to sound scared. Bakugo grunted.
"Great? This isn't great. You weren't supposed to be here!," Bakugo continued to scream. He yelled at Midoriya continuously and the greenette just stood there and took it. I mean, what else could he have done? He knew Bakugo was stronger than him and if he fought back, he would be blasted by Bakugo's quirk. And Midoriya, out of all people, would know that that really hurt.

Todoroki stood at the gates of U.A, gazing up at its amazement. He went to walk in when he heard a boy screaming at the doors. From where Todoroki stood, he could see he had blonde hair and his pants were sagging. Todoroki assumed it was just carelessness. He walked over towards the doors, curious what the teen was screaming at. As he inched closer, he could see green hair from in front of him. It was familiar.
"Deku, you damn nerd!," the boy screamed. Todoroki walked closer until he was in arms length of the teen.
"Are you teasing this boy? Don't you think that's rude," Todoroki asked, placing a hand on the blonde boy's shoulder. The teen turned to face him, his face tense with rage.
"I wasn't talking to you, Half-and Half bastard!," the teen yelled before walking towards the doors. He pushed the green-haired boy and walked inside. The boy fell to the ground, a small thump following. Todoroki kneeled down beside the green-haired boy.
"Hey...are you okay? Are you hurt," he asked concerned. The boy's hair looked familiar. Todoroki just couldn't figure it out.
"Y-Yeah! I'm fine! It was just Kacchan being Kacchan...," the boy looked up at Todoroki. At that moment, a gush of wind seemed to blow. Todoroki froze. Those eyes. All at once, the memories rushed back. The freckled cheeks. The green, messy locks. The sweet, pleasant smile.
"Izuku Midoriya...," Todoroki thought out loud. Midoriya looked up at Todoroki, confused. How did he know that? And why did he look familiar?
"Y-Yeah...I'm Izuku Midoriya! And...you are?," he asked, trying not to sound rude.
Todoroki smiled softly. Of course he didn't remember. It had been nearly two years since they met at the bubble tea store. That one day Shoto would never forget. The day he met his soulmate.
"I'm Shoto Todoroki. It's fine if you don't remember me, Midoriya," Shoto reassured the greenette, who was hurting his brain trying to remember who this guy was.
But then it hit Midoriya. Like he had just gotten slapped back to reality. Todoroki.
Suddenly, all the memories rushed back to him. The bubble tea store. The kind teen who had been nice enough to pay for Midoriya and his own drink. The one that had Midoriya intoxicated for nearly a week. Shoto Todoroki.
