Beads of sweat formed on the back of Midoriya's neck. He and Todoroki were alone. Everyone had either gone home or stayed to get work done. Either way, Midoriya would have enough time to say what he had to say. And that's what made him nervous most of all.
Todoroki stood there patiently. His face was blank as usual, but he was panicking on the inside. 'He's worrying me. He's usually a bubbly, happy, bottle of energy. What changed?'
Midoriya played with his fingers while he tried to figure out how to say it. 'Should I just be blunt and say it? Should I start giving hints before I say it? What do I do? Why is this so hard?'
"I-I needed to talk about...something important," Midoriya finally said. Midoriya scolded himself in his head. 'Great! Now you have to be brave and just spit it out!'
"Okay. What is it?," Todoroki asked, his cheeks turning a faint pink. Midoriya looked up at his heterochromatic eyes. The sun reflected off of them, exposing their true beauty.
"A-About the l-lecture today...I want to talk about...that," Midoriya said quietly, but loud enough for Todoroki to hear. At this point, Midoriya was a blushing mess. He had no idea how this was going to play out.
"Did I make you uncomfortable? I'm sorry-," Todoroki began.
"N-No! You didn't make me uncomfortable! It's not like that! Ummm...," Midoriya suddenly panicked. He calmed down and breathed. "Remember when Aizawa-sensei said that a red string shows up when you get to know your soulmate," Midoriya asked. Todoroki blushed.
"Yeah, why," Todoroki looked away for a quick moment. He didn't want Midoriya to see him blushing.
"W-W-Well...I-I...," Midoriya trailed off. He breathed again. 'Just say it. You've already brought him out here. Say it!'
"I SAW MY STRING ATTACHED TO YOU AND THAT CAN ONLY MEAN THAT WE'RE SOULMATES RIGHT?! I GET THAT YOU PROBABLY DON'T SEE ME LIKE THAT, BUT I JUST WANTED TO RELIEVE MYSELF FROM THIS STRESS! SORRY TO WASTE YOUR TIME, TODOROKI! I SHOULD PROBABLY GET HOME," Midoriya started rambling all at once.
He began power-walking away. 'Okay! You told him. How will he react?' Midoriya felt a hand wrap around his wrist and turn him around. He was faced with Todoroki, who's face was bright pink with blush. They looked at each other in silence for a minute or two.
"I...I feel the same way for you, Midoriya. Ever since I met you two years ago at the bubble tea store," Todoroki smiled. Midoriya smiled and hugged Todoroki. He buried his face in Todoroki's chest, cuddling into his body warmth. He mumbled something into Todoroki's chest, but Todoroki couldn't make it out.
"What was that, Midoriya," he asked him. Midoriya looked up at Todoroki. His eyes were glossed over and his smile as bright as the sun.
"I love you, Todoroki-kun~," he said, clinging to Todoroki's shirt. Todoroki hugged Midoriya and the greenette cuddled into the hug.
"I love you too, Midoriya~," Todoroki said, playing with Midoriya's messy hair.
The two looked at each other, taking in the other's beauty. None of them realized how close they were from each other. They came closer and closer...
And then their lips connected.
The same gust of wind blew in the air as Todoroki connected their lips. Midoriya snaked his arms around Todoroki's neck and Todoroki wrapped his arms around Midoriya's waist. He wanted to stay there all day. It felt like heaven. At that moment, his whole past seemed to disappear. The only thing he could see was what was in front of him. Izuku Midoriya.
His love.
His soulmate. After a short moment of pleasure, they let go of each other. Midoriya whined a little, craving that warmth again. Todoroki kissed his forehead in hopes of appeasing him. Midoriya giggled into Todoroki's chest.
The red sting appeared. However, it was faint and less playful then it usually seemed. It spun around Midoriya and Todoroki slowly. Midoriya examined it slowly. It circled around them one last time before disappearing into thin air.
Midoriya looked up at the sky. It was orange and purple. The sun was almost completely set over the city. "O-Oh! It's getting late. Mom will be worried if I don't get home soon," Midoriya muttered quietly. Todoroki stared down at him sadly. He wanted to stay with Midoriya just a little longer.
"Do you have to go?~," Todoroki whined, tightening his grip around Midoriya. Midoriya smiled. "Yes. I'm sorry, Todoroki-kun," he said. He wiggled free of Todoroki's grasp.
"Can I at least walk you home," Todoroki asked politely. Midoriya grinned and nodded.
Todoroki smiled. He quickly picked Midoriya up and kissed his cheek. He started walking, Midoriya still in his arms. "I-I can walk on my own!," Midoriya flushed red.
"I know. I said I would walk you home, didn't I?," Todoroki chuckled and continued walking. Midoriya sighed.
"I live in an apartment about ten minutes away from here," he muffled. Todoroki nodded and continued walking.
With his soulmate in his arms, at long last.
