This part was rushed but still got a good grade so I think it's still pretty good. She grades them by chapters so.
I woke up the next morning on the floor with my work clothes still on. I got up off the floor and felt all my joints pop. I groaned at the uncomfortable pain that shot through me as my body adjusted to the sudden movements. I grabbed some clothes and made my way to the bathroom to take a shower. In the shower thoughts began to wash over me. All of them including my childhood best friend. Why was he in town? How long is he staying? What hotel is he staying at? Did he even tell me? I didn't even get his contact information. How would I ever be able to see him again? Suddenly a memory rushed into my head.
"Jess, look over there! Pandas!" I heard Adam say grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the panda exhibit. It was a hot summer day and Adam's mother had invited me to go to the zoo with them since I have never gone before. We reached the exhibit and my eyes were wide in amazement. In front of me was my favorite animal of all time.
"They are real!" I said glancing at Adam. He nodded still looking at the animals in front of us. My eyes continued to stay on Adam. He was smiling at the beautiful creatures and I couldn't help but smile at how happy he looked in this moment. I felt butterflies in my tummy and I held on to my stomach with my free hand. Adam looked over worried, squeezing my hand as if to ask if I was okay. I simply smiled at him in response and squeezed his hand back to let him know I was okay.
The rest of the day we walked around looking at all the animals. I asked Adam what his favorite animal was but he couldn't give me an answer. He said he didn't have one and that they were all his favorite.
"What about favorite people?" I asked. We were sitting on a bench towards the entrance waiting for his mom to come back from the gift shop.
"Well... there's my mom and you." He said not looking away from the ducks walking in front of us. A heat rushed to my cheeks.
"Me?" I asked, staring up at him. He finally looked away from the ducks, turning to look at me with a huge grin on his face.
"Of course!" He said and we saw his mom coming out of the gift shop with a small bag. She walked over to us and took out the items in the bag. It was two bracelets. One was blue and the other black. Blue was my favorite color so she gave me the blue one and gave Adam the black one because it was his favorite color.
I smiled at the memory. Still to this day I have the blue bracelet. I wonder if Adam still has his. I got out of the shower and got dressed. I grabbed a towel to dry my hair when I heard my doorbell ring. I continued to dry my hair as I made my way to the front door. I dropped the towel to the side and opened the door. A gasp escaped me. In front of me was Adam. He was in a blue sweater and jeans and had on a pair of glasses. I didn't know he wore glasses. He wasn't wearing them yesterday. Wait, why is he here. It was like he could hear my thoughts.
"I know you're probably wondering why I am here. Just wanted to see if you wanted to do something today. I'm gonna be here in town for a week for a vacation so to say and I thought we could see each other this week while I'm here. I don't know your work schedule or anything-" He started to ramble off.
"I can request off this week. I would love to spend time with you. As for today what did you have in mind?" I asked. He was deep in thought for a couple seconds before walking closer to me.
"The zoo. Let's go to the zoo." He said excitedly. That's odd. I thought. I just had a memory of us at the zoo from when we were younger. Maybe it's fate.
