(I'm so sad that it's coming to an end but I couldn't write a novel for English sadly.)Chapter Six
I didn't wake back up until the next day. I woke up and stretched. I should check and see if Adam left. I thought before walking to the living room. Once I got in the living room, I looked down on the couch and saw Adam sleeping peacefully. Just like he was last night.
"I woke up before him?" I whispered to myself before walking towards the kitchen to make us both breakfast. I walked around grabbing the supplies I needed before starting to cook.
"What are you making?" I heard a groggily voice ask behind me. I jumped slightly. I turned around and saw Adam rubbing his eyes walking towards me.
"I am making us eggs and toast. If that's okay with you?" I asked before back to the eggs on the stove. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and placed his head on top of my own. A blush formed on my cheeks.
"You're cute when you blush." Adam said before walking away and sitting down at the table. The heat on my cheeks felt like it got even hotter. I shook my head, continuing to cook. After about 5 minutes the eggs and toast were done and I put mine and Adam's plates on the table.
"I didn't expect you to stay." I said before taking a bite of my toast. Adam nodded before shoving the whole egg in his mouth.
"I didn't expect to sleep as long as I did." He said before taking another huge bite of his eggs. The rest of breakfast was relatively silent. A memory flashed over me as I continued to eat.
Adam and I plugged the karaoke set into the TV. We put in our favorite CD and I grabbed a mic. We both waited patiently for the words to come up on the TV. Suddenly the words popped up on the screen and Adam sat down on the couch and watched me with curious eyes. I sang each word into the mic with passion filling inside of me. I stared at Adam for encouragement as the high parts came in. Adam gave me a thumbs up and I sang my heart out. Once the song was over Adam stood up from the couch and clapped. I blushed in embarrassment.
"You did so good Jessica. You sing so well." He said and suddenly he pouted.
"I wish I sang that good." Adam said with a sad look on his face. I went up too him and gave him a quick hug.
"You do sing good Adam." I said before handing him the mic, "It's your turn." He nodded and took the mic in his hand. He skipped many songs before finding the right one for him. I sat on the couch waiting to hear my best friend sing. When he started singing, I couldn't help but smile at how well he was doing. He would look over at me once in a while to see my reaction. I would give him a big smile and his nerves would slip away slowly. Once he was done singing I got up from the couch and walked over to him and pulled him into a hug.
"I told you that you sang good Adam. I wouldn't lie to you." I said. He shook his head in disbelief.
"C'mon, let's sing a song together." I said grabbing the other mic.
I was pushed back to reality by Adam snapping his fingers in front of my face. I looked at him to see him gesturing to my uneaten toast.
"You gonna eat that?" He asked. I shook my head no and he grabbed the toast putting it on his plate.
"What were you thinking about Jess?" He asked with his mouth full.
"Oh nothing. What did you have planned for the day?" I asked him. I could already guess what he was going to say.
"Well, I was thinking we could go to a karaoke bar or something." Adam said before finishing his toast. I knew it. I thought to myself before getting up and placing my plate in the sink. I looked at my full sink.
"Man I really need to do the dishes." I said as I stepped back admiring the dirty dishes. Adam got up and placed his dish in the sink.
"You know, I can do the dishes while you get ready for the day." He said before starting the dish water.
"Really? You'd do that?" I asked. He nodded at me.
"Of course. Now go get ready. Because once you're done we have to go back to my hotel so I can take a shower and change." He said as I walked away to get ready for the day. I took a quick shower and put on some clothes before walking back into the kitchen to see Adam finishing up with the dishes. Once we fully finished, he dried his hands with a paper towel and turned around to face me.
"Are you ready?" He asked. I nodded my head as we made our way to leave.
"You look nice by the way." He said once we got in the car. I looked down at my outfit. I was wearing a yellow sundress. I thanked him and soon we were at his hotel. We got out of the car and walked inside, taking the elevator to the top floor. As we walked through the halls, I looked around at how nice and elegant the hotel seemed. We made it to his room and walked in, Adam instantly grabbing some clothes and making his way to the bathroom. I sat at the edge of the hotel bed not sure of what to do.
"You can turn on the TV." Adam said through the hotel door. I was sort of in shock. This hotel was so nice. It was huge. This has to be expensive. How much is this costing him. Soon Adam was out of the bathroom and he sat on the edge of the bed with me, turning on the TV.
"Adam how much did this hotel cost?" I asked him, still looking around. He shrugged.
"About $200 a night." Adam said before going to the night stand to grab his wallet and phone. I was in disbelief.
"Adam that's over 1,000 dollars." I said in shock. He laughed at me. He then walked over towards me grabbing my shoulders.
"Yeah about 1,400 for a week." He said before letting go of me and turning off the TV, gesturing for us to leave.
"Where do you get that kind of money?" I asked him on the way out to the car.
"I do some extra stuff on the side." He said and we hoped in the car. I was confused but I didn't wanna question him further and make him uncomfortable. On the ride to the karaoke bar I was becoming more and more excited. No one ever wanted to sing karaoke with me.
Once we got there, we walked in and made our way to the karaoke station. Adam looked over at me as we walked up to the guy to request a song.
"Do you wanna sing first?" He asked me. I nodded. What song should I pick? It was hard since the only thing running through my mind was Adam. Counting he's been all I could think about all week. I started to feel butterflies in my stomach again and a blush form on my cheeks. Suddenly I heard Adams' voice ringing in my ears.
"Earth to Jessica. What song do you wanna sing?" He asked me. I thought for a second before. I thought of a song that reminded me of Adam. I looked at the guy apologetically for taking so long to decide.
"Crushcrushcrush by Paramore." I said before taking a mic and walking up on the stage. As the words came up on the small screen in front of me, I sang my heart out. My mind focusing on one person. I stared at him, singing to him and him only. He smiled at me and moved closer to the front of the stage. As I sang more and more people crowded the stage area. My nerves began to rise. Adam noticed and began singing along softly to relax me. Once the song was over Adam came up to me.
"That was beautiful Jess." He said. I slightly shoved him in response.
"What song do you plan on singing?" I asked him. He shrugged his shoulder.
"It's a secret. The song reminds me of you." He said before going on stage. Suddenly his voice wrapped around me. I couldn't believe my ears. He was singing One Thing by One Direction. As the song continued I listened deeply to his voice and the lyrics. This song reminded him of me? I thought. I swayed along to the music and smiled intensely. Once Adam was done he came up to me and gave me the biggest hug. It felt like everything was where it was supposed to be.
