Chapter 53

The King's body was destroyed into pieces as his body was nothing but ashes. The young Taniguchi panted heavily as she felt her body go numb feeling the blood rushing through her veins
W-we did it...
"H-help! We need help!" A vampire shouted. Mitsuko immediately ran to the vampire and gasped. She saw a man on the ground and trembled realizing it was her father
"F-father?" Mitsuko mumbled and ran up to him. Hojo coughed blood and slowly opened his eyes
"M-mitsuko?" Hojo asked weakly
"Dad!" Harumin exclaimed and Soha trembled
"H-hojo!" Soha exclaimed. The vampires landed on the ground and the villagers started to crowd but the guards pushed them back
"We need help! Quick! The Q-queen!" The vampire shouted. The two Mizusawas ran up to the vampire and their eyes widened seeing their cousin. Matsuri's body was torn as a bit of her flesh was completely disintegrated
"W-we need Liana!" Nitski said. Liana appeared from the crowd with a few injuries and trembled
"Y-you have to save her! Like last time!" Nitski said
"I-I'm sorry...but...there is nothing I can do to help her. Her body didn't fully recover and with that impact from the power during the attack was powerful. Which means...she's...dead" Liana said softly
"Wh-what? Dead? Ha! Shut up!" Nitski said as she started to tear up
"N-nitski..." Juhin said. Nitski clenched her fists tightly and trembled
"Shit...hey Aoi! We need your help!" Nitski said. Ume came in and backed up as she trembled
"Can't you save him?" Soha asked as she grabbed Ume
"I-I can't..." Ume said and trembled
"What do you mean you can't?! You have to help him!" Soha said
"Bring her back to life!" Nitski said
"I-I can't do that! The King...h-has magic surrounding his body. M-my magic...doesn't resurrect others...besides...the only way to bring her her back. Is through her own mother..." Ume said
"Sh-she can't die!" Nitski shouted as she bursted into tears. Juhin hugged his sister and trembled. Mitsuko only teared up as she clenched her fists tightly
"M-matsuri..." Mitsuko mumbled
"M-mizusawa..." Hojo mumbled
"Hm? Wh-what?" Nitski asked as she kneeled
"K-king? What do you need?" Juhin adked asked
"I-I just wanted to apologize..." Hojo said
"H-huh? Apologize?" Nitski asked
"F-for everything...for harming those innocent vampires and using them as t-tools" Hojo said and coughed more blood
"Dad! We need to help you!" Mitsuko said
"I-it's too late..." Hojo said and smiled a little
"I-I can use my power! I can save you!" Mitsuko said as she teared up
"N-no...please don't..." Hojo said
"Why?! You can't die! We can save you! I-I can save Matsuri too!" Mitsuko said and kneeled down
"Mitsuko...Harumi...I need you two...t-to take care of one another and your m-mother" Hojo said
"Dad!" Mitsuko shouted. Harumin only teared up and kneeled down hugging her dad. Hojo smiled a bit and hugged his daughter back
"And i-it's okay for y-you to be yourself...I'm sorry....f-for saying such mean things t-to you..." Hojo said
"I-I love you dad" Harumin whispered
"I-I love you too...Harumi" Hojo said
"Hojo...dear...you can't..." Soha said and kneeled down. Hojo held his hand out to hold his wife's hand
"Soha...it'll be o-okay. Besides...I want...her to be happy" Hojo said
"S-sir...I don't understand why-"
"You...your brother...your cousin...and everyone here...have g-gone through a lot. Y-you've helped us...a-and defended our kingdom. Most importantly...Matsuri...s-saving my daughter's life and got her h-home. I want...to thank you and I...want to do s-something for you" Hojo said
"Wh-what?" Nitski asked
"Her m-mother...I-I have some power left in me from her..." Hojo said
"W-wait...what? What are you trying to say?" Juhin asked
"I'm...bringing her mother...back to life. Using my heart...and power...I can bring her back" Hojo said
"B-but you'll die!" Nitski said
"I-I know but...you've all done so much f-for me...and Matsuri...is like h-her mother. They...h-help others..." Hojo said and started coughing as he struggled to breathe
"D-dad...you can't! Wh-what will we do? I'm not ready to be the next heir! I can't do it! I'm not ready!" Mitsuko said as she clenched her fists tightly
"Mitsuko...you'll be a-amazing...you're a strong and brave girl. So please...don't cry. I know you're scared...and worried...so was I..." Hojo mumbled and coughed as he tried to sit up
"D-dad!" Mitsuko said and held him
"I'm sorry...for everything I've done t-to you. I should've l-let you have a normal childhood...instead of training you" Hojo said and groaned in pain as he leaned back but Mitsuko held him placing him down on the ground
"Dad...I forgive you but...you just can't..." Mitsuko said as she trembled. Soha held Mitsuko and Harumin making them stand up
"It's...time..." Hojo mumbled and closed his eyes. The Taniguchi family teared up as they trembled watching their family member slowly die in front of them
"I love you...please...take care of each other. And Nitski...Juhin..." Hojo said and signalled the to come close. The two kneeled down and leaned closely towards him
"S-say...thanks...t-to...Jin..ah...for m-me..." Hojo mumbled and his heart stopped completely. The Mizusawas trembled and clenched her fists tightly
"Y-yes....sir...thank you...s-so much" They mumbled. Soon they saw a bright light come from Hojo's body as it began to swirl around creating a figure above. Everyong lifted their head and trembled taking a step back. The light got brighter that the people covered their eyes and the figure began to take form. Soon there was a body with arms and legs. Wings came out from the back and it landed on the ground with the light still surrounding the figure. The light slowly faded away and the crowd looked up seeing a woman. The woman slowly opened her eyes and looked at her own body then turned around seeing Hojo. Her eyes widened and kneeled down as she teared up
"Why...did you do it..." The woman mumbled and touched his face closing his eyes

Jinah lifted Hojo's head and placed her hand on his forehead
"...Hojo..." Jinah whispered and rested his body
"...h-he said thank you...for helping him..." Nitski said. Jinah looked up and her eyes met up with her niece's eyes
"Nitski? Juhin" Jinah asked. Nitski smiled as she teared up
"H-hi...auntie..." Nitski said
"It's been a while..." Juhin said. Jinah stood up and trembled as she held her arms out. Nitski and Juhin hugged her tightly and burst in tears as they held her tightly
"M-matsuri! Save her please!" Nitski said
"M-matsuri?" Jinah asked
"Sh-she used up...everything and h-her body...is ruined" Juhin said. Jinah walked up to her daughter's body and teared up as she knelt down then held her closely. Jinah closed her eyes and carried her daughter
"J-jinah?" Ume asked as she trembled. Jinah looked up and turned around seeing the other witch
"U-ume?" Jinah asked
"You remembered..." Ume said
"Of course" Jinah said and looked at Matsuri's face. She leaned in kissing her forehead
"Everything will be okay Matsuri...you're safe" Jinah whispered and noticed the young girl walking up to her trembling s bit
"Who are you?" Jinah asked glaring at her a bit
"I-I'm Mitsuko Taniguchi. I'm...Matsuri's girlfriend" Mitsuko said. Jinah's eyes widened and trembled as she took a step back
G-girlfriend? But...she's human. A human! Matsuri...no...you can't..
"Hm...I see. And you have my power huh? Well...we should fix this place up but first..." Jinah paused and opened up her wings
"I better head home and take care of my daughter. The rest of the vampires will help you all...then I'll take Hojo with me once I return" Jinah said
"What are you planning to do with him?" Soha asked
"Taking him home...he said he would like to be buried next to his father..." Jinah said as she looked
"At least let us say our goodbyes..." Mitsuko said as she trembled and began to tear up again
"I understand..." Jinah said and nodded. She turned around and looked up
"Now if you'll excuse me...I must take my girl home" Jinah said
"B-but...I can see her again.. r-right?" Mitsuko asked as she trembled
"...I'm not sure...because human...you've committed a risky decision" Jinah said
"What d-do you mean?" Mitsuko asked
"...I'm not sure I'll allow Matsuri to be with you" Jinah said. Mitsuko's eyes widened and trembled
"Wh-what?" Mitsuko asked
"I'll take Matsuri away from you..." Jinah said
"N-no...wait!" Mitsuko said
"Goodbye..." Jinah said as she flew away
"No!" Mitsuko shouted as she tried to fly but Soha grabbed her
"Mitsuko..." Soha whispered. Mitsuko had tears streaming down her cheeks and clenched her fists tightly
"DON'T TAKE MATSURI AWAY FROM ME!" Mitsuko shouted as lightning stuck in the sky and began to rain

The entire Kingdom ended up joining the funeral of their King. The Taniguchi family were devastated at the loss of their family member. Their allies decided to join the funeral after getting the news. The Aihara and Momokino were beside their old friend trying to comfort Soha. Mitsuko and Harumin were by the coffin with tears rolling down their cheeks. The vampires were outside along with the villagers since they weren't allowed inside. The only vampires standing inside were the Mizusawas and the Okogis. Jinah tried to keep herself hidden away from the Royals which Ume noticed
"Jinah...why are you acting like that?" Ume whispered
"Let's just say...I don't have a good relationship with the Royal family" Jinah whispered
"Why? Did you...hurt them?" Ume whispered
"Physically? No. Emotionally? Yes" Jinah said
"What?" Ume asked
"I uh...played with the Queens" Jinah said as she looked away
"But why? What for?" Ume asked
"Listen...now is not a good time for this. I'll explain more once everything is over.." Jinah whispered
"You idiot. That's why you should've listened to me in the first place" Ume said
"We should probably head back..." Jinah whispered
"Wait...right now?" Ume asked
"Yes. Come on. We need to get back and help these vampires..." Jinah whispered as she walked away passing by the guests
"Uh...Auntie?" Nitski asked
"Let's go everyone!" Jinah shouted ordering the vampires to head out
"Why are you against us being together!?" Mitsuko exclaimed. Jinah turned around and faced the girl
"Matsuri and I love each other!" Mitsuko said
"You're a mortal...she's a vampire" Jinah said
"If you're talking about that stupid curse then you're wrong.. it was never a curse! It was love! Our feelings for one another...is real! We love each other!" Mitsuko shouted. Jinah only glared at her for a moment and sighed
This human...she doesn't give up does she? She really loves Matsuri but...still...it's not only about the curse. Shit...
"I'll bring Matsuri back once she wakes up and gets fully recovered. Right now she is resting so be patient and wait for her. I'll get her to you" Jinah said
"You better...unless you want me to go hunt after you and kill you myself" Mitsuko growled
"Heh...I think I know why Matsuri fell for someone like you. Anyways...everyone! Let's move!" Jinah said and ordered the ground of vampires to fly out of the Kingdom and headed back to their home where they belonged. Mitsuko watched them leave and felt her heart throb then clenched her chest tightly as she looked down
"Micchan? Maruta asked as she touched her shoulder. Mitsuko only gritted her teeth and turned around as she walked back inside the castle
"I need to be alone right now...so please...leave me...alone" Mitsuko said as she teared up
