Ash found himself outside Misty's hotel in Pewter City a few days after Brock's bachelor party. He started to make his way inside, but was stopped at the entrance.
"Sorry sir, but there are no Pokémon allowed in this hotel." Ash signed and then looked at the Pikachu on his shoulder.
"Sorry sir, but I really need to get in and Pikachu doesn't like to be inside his Pokéball." Ash has a pleasing expression on his face.
"He can stay here if he wants." The man replied giving them both a smile.
"Is this okay with you Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Pika pi Pikachu Pi pi. Pika pik pi pikachu pi. Pika pik pik pikachu!" (It's okay Ash. I know how important this is to you. Go get your girl!)
Ash smiled at Pikachu and thanked him as he made his way to the front desk.
"OMG!" Ash knew what was coming next. "Your the Pokémon Master!"
Ash rubbed the back of his head. "Yes ma'am I am, but right now I am doing something important and I really need your help." The woman saw how serious he was and decided it best to act professional again.
"I'm sorry sir. How may I help you today?"
"I'm looking for someone who is staying here. Her name is Misty Kasumi Waterflower."
"Alright sir. Give me one second." She started to type away at her computer. After she was done, she looked back at Ash with an apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry sir, but she checked out yesterday." Ash frowns after hearing this. He thanks her anyways and then walks back outside and greets Pikachu with open arms.
"Pik pi pika?" (How did it go?) Pikachu asked.
"She checked out yesterday Pikachu. We missed her by a day." Ash was distraught. He had finally worked himself up to tell her how he felt, but the moment was taken away because he took to long. Ash signed and pulled his phone out to call Brock.
"Hello." Answered Brock.
"Hey Brocko. How's it hanging?"
"It's going. You know how it is. How about you? Did you tell Misty?" Ash could tell Brock was acting giddy from across the phone.
"I couldn't. She checked out of her hotel yesterday." Ash signed. "Why do things always turn out this way."
"Hey don't give up now. Just go to Cerulean and talk to her there."
"I can't just walk up to her doorstep out of the blue and just wing it. I need a plan." Ash was become more and more frustrated the more he went on.
"Well then make one." The fact that Brock was making it sound so easy was just making it worse. "I'll tell you what. I'll help you out."
This piqued Ash's interests. "What do you mean?"
"I'll call her and tell her that you have been trying to get ahold of her and when she calls you back ask her if she wants to hang out in a few days. Once it comes time, take her someplace really special and confess. It would not only be planned out, but it would also be romantic."
Ash thought about this for a second. He couldn't find a single thing that could possibly go wrong with this plan so he agreed. Well besides rejection that is. After Brock got off the phone, Ash waited patiently for Misty to call.
Every second that went by felt like an eternity. He just stared at the phone as he waited. Finally, after a few minutes, she called. Ash immediately picked up the phone and cursed himself for it.
