"Bam, would you like to stay here?" She couldn't explain why those words came out of her mouth. The boy hadn't even asked her to take him in. The nerve of her to propose such a selfish request! Especially when she had financial difficulties as well, simply ridiculous.
But her conscience couldn't ignore the poor boy. She did the right thing, to help someone who was obviously in need of it. She hadn't planned on keeping him here either way, that would be too much of a responsibility when she can barely handle herself for the matter.
Oh but the angel on he right side said that everything will be alright and the devil on her life says otherwise and the angel rebukes the demon until it became a personal bout of attacks to each other which Rachel cursed inside her mind.
"R-really?" Oh no, his eyes are beaming. This is unfair. I'm at the mercy of this cute kid's eyes oh my god Rachel. "You let me stay?"
She sighed, nodding as she closed his eyes, the devil on her left shouting mindless curses while the being on the right celebrated. "Yay! I'll be good boy, I promise."
He said this with such a hopeful and determined look on his face that Rachel found herself fawning over the boy's adorable words. She wonders how he'll look like when she trims that very long hair of his. Or maybe have it as a ponytail first. Oh her mind was crafting ideas.
Honestly, guys today look like girls, I feel my species' worth declining with boys like him. Then again! I could experiment with him. Yes yes, with that cute facr of his, he'll be popular with the ladies! It wouldn't be a surprise if by now, her pupils had turned into that of money. The girl was crafty indeed and made money through creative but respectful means. She wouldn't dare do something risky and cause disrespect. Simply unacceptable.
The boy was giddy, she could tell. She could also tell that his mind was probably of that of an eight year old to which a displeased frown made its way onto her lips. She always wanted to be a mother, looks like she'll get her chance to be one, very early!
Education would be a problem though. At his age, he might get bullied and dear heavens no, this boy had clearly suffered enough. The world is far too cruel for pure be and like Bam.
Wait wait no. I have no money! Argh, curse my inability to think ahead of my decisions. Idiot, idiot, idiot idi-
"Uh... miss Reyshel...? You 'kay? Why you hitting yourself? Doesn't it hurt?" The poor boy's amber eyes were widened. Panicking as he witnessed the girl who saved him smacking herself on the head. He cringed at every impact, having taken a few dozens of those if memory served him right.
With his words of concern, she was brought out from her reverie and paused, hand in mid air as she stared at the boy in nervous embarrassment before bringing said ahand to her mouth to fake a cough. She was supposed to be a grown-up already, and here she was, smacking herself in front of... in front of a child! Wonderful maturity. She can feel both angels at her sides facepalming themselves.
"Ahem," she coughed again. "I uh, am fine Bam. Now! Off to sleep young man! It's getting quite late, its half past eleven! Goodness sake." She stood up, patting his head before heading out, door about to close when she realized this was the only room that had a bed.
"Crap."
