After his late dinner and a few minutes of typing, the student had went outside, borrowing an umbrella from the staff and entrusting his belongings under their care. It was incredibly idiotic to step out into the pouring darkness outside. And what was it all for? Simply the stubborn being in his chest willed him to do so.
Perhaps the stress has gotten to him as he could no longer think rationally.
Or was it just a certain longing of something that stirred the star inside the cave of his chest? That soothed his aching mind? The answer
It's raining, isn't it?
he does not know.
Some little of water made its way and kissed his clothed frame. He was warm, but not because of his clothes, it was all because of faint hope that he would be able to hear and feel the song that threw everything into chaos by blanketing everything with tranquility.
For such things did not exist in the void of his clouded mind and shielded heart
His expectations coming to fruition always pleased him, but this time, just this time, he wanted it to be wrong.
For it was silent. No voice of an angel was heard. No lulling melody to listen to.
No song from the heart to feel.
He waited, unwilling to make the same mistake of waiting for a meager one-twelfth of an hour.
But it was only the tears of the sky that he heard.
And thus he returned, indifference was his immediate expectation when what he expected came true.
But somewhere deep down on the far edgest of his locked heart laid the faintest hint of disappointment and something far more uglier.
Loneliness.
✝️
Stepping into the lobby with his usual dull eyes, fairly drenched and so he felt cold.
But his mind wondered if it truly were because of something trivial as water from the sky. Or was it because his star twinkled, dull and lifeless. The absence of the song stirring such thoughts in his mind in the first place.
Don't be misled. His mother's voice rang inside his head and soon he discarded the unnecessary feeling and returned the umbrella to the waiting staff to which he gave a thoughtful tip.He picked up his things to retreat into the shelters of his four walls where he dwelled. He glanced at the time on his watch, it was ten till ten. A weird way of reading time but it was something he was used. he had no plans on changing the way he reads time, it was unnecessary for he only needs to read it to himself. No one else.
But change was a fearful thing, he had realized. It made him wonder if people do ever change or was it just inside them the whole time. Hidden from the public's prying eyes.
Is betrayal naturally a part of a human being's nature? For at least once in your life, you've either betrayed or been betrayed. Betrayal causes betrayal. The student in the elevator knows that much for he had experienced being betrayed and so he became a traitor as well.
He could faintly feel it. His hands, inches away from the neck of a being he wouldn't mind gone. Said creature would be what you call a 'father' or a parent but he wasn't either of the two. As well as his mother who faked her affection all due to some ultierior motive that she had crafted since his conception.
