Amidst the foggy cruelty of reality lies within every conscious being, a certain desire to comprehend the great complexity that life is. A question that plagued the brunette's working mind. That much he not knows for all was but a haze. To some, losing your memories might be dreadful. After all, your memories made who you are in the present and for it to be lost, it would be maddening.

But he was indifferent to the whole of it. There were some bits of curiosity that pricked at his being from time to time but never paid it with the utmost importance. After all, there must have been a reason.

The entirety of his predicament was like being a baby all over again with the leverage of awareness. Or would old age be the more appropriate route? For the elderly's mind decays as time flicks its hand onwards, unrelenting and uncaring for those who fail to keep up with its eternal expansion. It was unsettling, just like–

A yawn ran across the silence, ruining its fluid ambience of nothingness.

–Sunday.

For some reason, the day made him feel icky. An explainable feeling of discomfort and... anxiety? Well it really wasn't Sunday for the clock had long passed the hand of twelve.

Taking a glance at the digital invention on the bedside drawer, it was three a.m, sharp. The room was almost pitch black but the lunar light had shone and lit their lightless space. He could make out, the faint figure of the woman that had taken him in. A wave of infinite gratitude washing across him.

He may not know why people exist or live when it life is inevitably finite. You live, only to die. To be forgotten and erased from the massive fabrics of the cosmos is something Bam could never understand. He had asked Ms. Rachel, many times and many times he was answered with the quirky, "I don't know Bam. Life is beautiful even if you're having a hard time. And I'm not smart enough to think of an answer on why we live."

Her answered ended with a smile yet she wanted to have an answer for that as well.

Bam rubbed his eyes together as they slowly adjusted fo the dimly lit room. Despite the night they had, he wasn't as tired in contrast to the woman beside him. He had only one glass and it did taste nice but Ms. Rachel had interved his second one and drank it herself.

Bam giggled to himself but stopped when he felt Rachel stir as panic coursed through his whole system. She showed no signs of waking up anytime soon as faint snores came out her mouth.

As he scanned the room, the silhouette of something peeking out just right beside the door to their balcony scared him as it looked like someone was staring at them as they slept.

The door to the balcony slightly opened did not help his case as he heard a faint sound. A creak? But the floors weren't wooden. He ducked underneath the covers when a shadow of a wavy figure surfaced.

Minutes pass and he mustered the courage to peek and saw the figure. Still flowy yet it had moved an inch. Oh! Those are clothes Ms. Rachel hanged. Maybe I should fold them. I can't sleep.

Bam then subtly moved as he made sure to make as little to no noise. Marching forth as he realized that there was a creak. He froze in his his tracks as a chill ran down his spine that made him shiver. It was the wind that breezed pass the tiny opening on the doors. And the creaking was perhaps caused by the wind pushing the door as well.

Stepping outside with the set of clothes resting at his arm as he enjoyed the night breeze. Now that he thought about it, it was a lot colder than what he originally thought and he found himself shivering.
