chapter 22

Maura's POV

everyone is asleep but I can't sleep because I'm too worried about Hayes.

I've been awake crying and pacing back and fourth.

I saw Cameron come in through the door, he walked up to me and hugged me, I just started balling my eyes out into his shirt.

"shhhh he's gonna be okay" cam said

Cameron sat down and I sat on his lap and cried into his shirt.

We heard the doctor come out and Will went over to him.

Nash woke up and ales do I wanted to sit with him but I said no.

Will came back

"the bullet split, he went through surgery last night and they got it all out but it was a long hard operation." will said

"I wanna see him now" I said

"the doctor said he's still easing back so 1 person at a time" the doctor said

"maura first" Nash said

I ran to his room and then walked in and saw him laying there.

"hey" he said

"a-are you okay?" I asked

I'm still crying even though he's fine.

"mar, I'm fine. come here" he said

I walked over to him and he sat up and hugged me.

Hayes is fully awake from surgery so everyone came in.

"I think I'm good to go now, nothing hurts" Hayes said

"Hayes, you are good to go" the doctor said

"thanks" Hayes said

He went into the bathroom and put in sweatpants and a tshirt and vans then we left.

"what are we gonna do today?" Hayes asked

"the doctor said that you need to take it easy for a little while" will said

"I'm fine" Hayes said

We got in the car and drove home.

"okay so your gonna tell me were not gonna do anything today" Hayes said

"take your medicine and we can go to the beach" will said

I love the beach but I still get a little scared going there because of what happened.

"okay we'll go home get ready and leave" will said

We got home and I went upstairs and put on my black bikini bottoms on which have tribal print lace covering them and a light blue top.

I put on flip flops and put my hair in a messy bun and put my ray bans on.

I walked downstairs and everyone was ready so we left.

"can we not go in the water right away" I said

"you don't have to but we are" Nash said

"ill come in too then" I said

We got to the beach and the guys dropped their towel and took their shoes off and ran to the water.

I followed them and the water was freezing!

We were swimming for a while and I though my limbs were gonna fall off because I was cold.

I got on Hayes back and he put his hands to hold my thighs so I didn't fall.

My lips were chattering because I was so cold.

"maura I think you should get put for a little bit your lips are blue" Cameron said

"are you guys getting out yet?" I asked

They all said not yet.

"then I'll stay in here" I said

"you shivering I'll get out with you" Hayes said

We got out of the water and I wrapped in my towel.

I sat there and Hayes wrapped his arms around me because I'm still freezing, we're swimming in the middle of September, it's sorta cold.

Nash Cam and Will came out of the water.

"do you guys wanna go get food" Nash asked

"I'm still cold, I need clothes first" I said

"here" cam said and gave me sweatpants.

I put them on but the top of me is still cold.

I crossed my arms to keep me warm.

"come here, your still shivering" Nash said

I walked to Nah and he piled me up and wrapped his towel around the top of me.

We got to panera and ate food then drove home.

I went upstairs and took a shower and then I got changed into sweatpants, a long sleeve tshirt, and a hoddie.

I came back downstairs and everyone was in the kitchen.

"maura what do you like better chocolate or vanilla?" will asked

"chocolate" I said

"we told you" Hayes and cam said to Nash and will.

"are you still cold?" cam asked

I shook my head yeah.

"your lips are still blue" Nash said

"did you take a hot shower?" will asked

"yeah" I said and then heard the door open and saw my mom.

"MOM!" I yelled and hugged her.

"hey, why are your lips blue?" my mom asked

"I'm cold" I said

"come here" mom said

She got a blanket out if the closet and turned it on and it turned warm.

"use this" she said

the blanket kept me warm and I sat in the kitchen with it.

My mom made chicken Alfredo and it was so good.

"thanks mom" I said

"thanks" everyone else said

"I'm tired" I said

"oh I forgot to tell you guys, dad is being let out early, we're going to get him tomorrow" my mom said.

"okay, I'm going to bed" I said

I wen upstairs and laid in bed and fell asleep.
