~Britain POV~

"Oh hello there Arthur. What are you doing here?"
I looked up in shock upon hearing my human name. Our human names are rarely ever used unless we're in front of regular people.
"Oh hello Matthew. You remember me?" I asked him. "Yeah I do, why wouldn't I? Oh and Arthur, what exactly happened to me?" I thought for a moment before coming up with something to say to Canada. "Well you hit your head so I came over to help you." "Oh thanks, who's your friend?" Canada looked over at Prussia.
"Oh that's umm..." I realized I don't really know Prussia's human name. Countries only tell their names to people they trust. "My name's Gilbert!" Prussia interrupted my thoughts. "Oh hello then Gilbert. Why are you in my room?" "Umm... I was just worried about you." I noticed a slight blush on Prussia's face as he said this.
"Well Matthew, I am curious as to what you remember. You seem to have slight amnesia. But since you remembered me, you must have partial memory." I stated. "Hmm ok. Oh yeah Gilbert! How come earlier you called me Canada?" I looked over to see Gilbert with a nervous expression. He probably didn't know how to respond to this.

~Prussia POV~

I needed to think of an excuse to why I called him Canada. "Um well, it was just a nickname. I can come up with a new one if you want. How about I call you Birdie." Birdie is going to be my pet name for Canada. I felt so bad for what happened to Canada, but I did have to admit he looked really cute sitting in the bed with messy hair. Wait what am I thinking? Why did I think he looked cute? I was snapped out of my thoughts when Canada said, "Birdie? Um just call me Matthew please." "Nope I'm calling you Birdie now. It is an awesome nickname made by the awesome me! Kesesesese!" I laughed my awesome laugh. "Your laugh, it's so funny. Hahaha" Canada has such a cute laugh it was quiet but still cute.
"Well I have to go now guys, Gilbert please take care of Matthew and try to find a way to get his memories back." Britain got up to leave and I followed him.
We were out of earshot of Matthew so we could talk about the countries. "Don't mention the countries at all to Canada. Just try to trigger memories. I'm not going to tell the other countries so they don't panic. But I will go find Russia and speak to him." "Ok Britain I will. How come he knew your human name but not that you're Britain?" I was very confused on why Canada knew Britain and not me. I'm too awesome to be forgotten! "My only guess is that Canada remembers only the countries he was close to and knows their human names. That would mean me, America, and the bloody frog." Britain narrowed his thick eyebrows when he said the last words. He turned to leave the house, but before he stepped out he handed me a list of phone numbers to call. It had his cell phone number along with America and France's numbers.
Britain then left the house and drove away. When he was gone I turned around to see two violet eyes starring back at me. I jumped back startled. "Whoa Birdie you scared me, you were so quiet I didn't even hear you."
"Still calling me Birdie? Ok whatever. Sorry I scared you. I'm a little hungry, what kind of food do you have in your house."
Did he seriously not remember this was his house? I don't know where anything is in this house. "Uh well this is your house, I don't know where you keep things." He looked at me in confusion. I guess I'll have to look for food myself because he clearly doesn't remember anything.
I searched in different cupboards until I found some sausage, so I decided to cook some of that up. Not the same as delicious wurst, but close enough.

~short time skip brought to you by Prussia's cooking~

"Mmm that was very good Gilbert." Canada said quietly. I was glad he enjoyed the food. "No problem Birdie. Glad you liked it."
I watched as Canada got up to put his plates in the sink and I couldn't help but stare at his figure. What am I thinking! I shook those thoughts from my head as Canada came to sit back down. It was getting late and I decided we should head to bed. Birdie needs his rest after a head injury. Maybe in the morning he'll remember some stuff. "Let's head off to bed Birdie." I looked over at him and saw he was blushing like crazy. "D-do you mean t-together?" He stuttered. I can't believe he thought that! Obviously not together, he has a spare room. "Nien Birdie, there's a spare room for me to sleep in." "O-ok." He said that as if he was disappointed. He just must be tired from the long day.
Canada trudged up the stairs with me following behind before we split off to out own rooms. I flopped down on the bed and buried myself under all the warm covers. I slowly felt sleep consume me as I closed my eyes and drifted off.
