Finding the Truth

Chapter.8

Author POV:

The ninja landed their dragons outside of the junkyard and could already hear the noise of inventing coming from the inside. All the ninja slid off from their dragons hitting the hot sand below them letting the dragons dissolve when they lost contact with their riders. They stayed looking up at the sign reading ' Ed & Edna scrap N Junk', all nervous about the confronting that's gonna take place soon.

Jay stood in front of his extended family looking up at the sign trying to mentally prepare even though he already went through this, finding out you're adopted will never be an easy thing. He took a deep breath really trying not to back out of this and go into a nervous ramble. He closed his eyes for a brief moment trying to calm down when he felt a hand slip into his own catching his attention. He opened his eyes and looked to his right to see none other than the water ninja, also known as the love of his life, Nya. She gave him a reassuring smile trying to tell him everything will be ok and it helped him out a bit even though there was a volcano of emotion just waiting to erupt.

Jay returned the smile before looking back at his other fellow ninja and one samurai giving them a nervous smile that was returned with smiles that were trying to encourage him. He looked back at the entrance taking another deep breath before finally making his way inside with Nya at his side and his friends behind him.

Ed was working on an invention while Edna was nowhere in sight so they were guessing she was inside the trailer. Neither knew their son, let alone all the ninja would be coming. The ninja caught the attention of Ed who stopped working and made his way over to greet them.

"Oh hey there kiddos! What're ya doing here!?" (Sorry if Ed and Edna seem a bit off character, I tried) he asked coming towards the ninja and giving Jay a hug.

"Hey Dad, I need to talk to you and Ma about something... very important," Jay said returning the hug before latching onto Nya's hand with his and squeezing it out of nervousness.

"Oh, Ok kiddo! Your Ma's inside. Let's go there to talk!" Ed said while leading the ninja to the trailer.

The ninja followed Ed towards the camper while Ed was continuously talking about what's been going on at the junkyard lately in which Jay only responded with 'mhm's' and 'ok's'. Nya looked up at her Yin still concerned about what's about to go down and gave him a sad smile while he continued to respond to his dad but flashed her a quick nervous smile. All the ninja could see how nervous Jay was I mean obviously he would be, but they also knew they had to be there for the blue ninja.

They entered the trailer now catching the attention of Edna who was making dinner.

"Jay?! Nya!? Ninja?! how nice to see you all! What're ya all doing here?" She asked turning towards everyone with a big smile on her face.

"Hey, Ma... I need to talk to you and Pa about something important" Jay said walking towards Edna and giving her a hug which she returned. 

"Oh! What is it, son?"

"This" He pulled out the letter from his pocket and handed it to his mom to read with Ed looking over her shoulder reading the letter as well "Am I adopted?"

Although Jay already knew the answer to that he needed to confirm it. Both Ed and Edna looked at each other in worry but stayed silent which gave him his answer. 

"So it is true..." Jay looked down

"honey-" Edna started to speak but Jay held up his hand to stop her.

"I'll be in my old workspace" was all he said before leaving the trailer.

All the ninja looked at each other with worry before looking back at Ed and Edna.
