Finding the Truth

Chapter.1

A lot has happened lately...

The ninja have defeated the Oni, they all almost died, they had to use the Tornado of Creation, and Jay finally asked Nya to be his Yang... and she said YES! Now after everything, the ninja are finally getting a day off to just relax and spend time together.

All ninja were in the living room of the Monastery relaxing together while watching TV. Jay and Nya are cuddled up together on the sofa, Kai and Lloyd are sitting on the other sofa playing rock, paper, clamp. Cole is drinking soda, cross-legged on the floor while Zane and Pixal are drinking tea together lying peacefully on the recliner. Everything was calm and no troubles was a rare thing so the ninja were taking advantage. But then...

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Groans were heard across the room, but they knew someone had to answer the door. The ninja looked at each other with a knowing look and yelled quickly.

"NOT IT!"

Although the last to say was Jay "Darn it!" he said while reluctantly lifting himself off the couch and away from his comfortable spot next to his girlfriend. His fellow ninja were chuckling while Jay made his way towards the door, he paused before taking a deep breath then reaching for the handle and slowly opening the door.

"Ah hello...Jay" the mailman said obviously out of breath from climbing the steps to the monastery.

"Hello!" Jay greeted him with a forced smile wishing he could just go back to relaxation with all his friends.

 The mailman reached into his bag and pulled out a couple of envelopes and handed them to Jay "Here ya go, Jay! Enjoy your day!" and just like that, the mailman walked away receiving a simple 'bye' from the lightning ninja. Jay closed the door and began to make his way back to the living room with mail-in hand. One he arrived he paused in front of everybody holding up the mail for everyone to see. Then began going through it...

"Ok...Cole" he handed the letter to his best friend then continued " Kai and Nya" he handed the letter to the siblings " Pixal " he handed the letter to his robot friend other than Zane " and finally... m-me."

Jay held the large, flat, yellow envelope in front of him, staring as if something felt familiar... he slowly opened it to see what's inside. A letter and... a key?

Then it hit Jay like a truck when he realized 'i know this letter...this key... oh. My. god.' he thought. The lightning ninja dropped everything from his hands and stood in hock staring off into space, thoughts running through his head.

"Hey, Jay? Buddy, you ok?" The earth ninja, Cole asked while giving his best friend a look of concern and worry like everyone else in the room.

"Jay? Babe? You there?" Nya, the blue ninja's girlfriend asked, trying to get his attention while slowly getting up.

'I th-thought he was lying... It's true?!' Jay thought to himself still in shock, before he bolted to his room slamming the door behind him and falling back on the door. He sank down to the floor and brought his legs up to his chest, hiding his face in them while his breathing quickens and eyes glaze over.

And Jay did something he hasn't done in years upon years...he broke down...

I hope this wasn't too bad, I'm still improving and hope to get better.

Sorry, this is so short, I'm going to make the next one longer but this one is just to start off the story.
