I partly blame Ryan for the terrible crash. If he showed up for Christmas I would have stayed home with him, but he didn't.

My friend Kelly stopped by my house on Christmas to drop off a gift. When she saw my crying on the couch, she suggested we go into town and shop and go to the park and see the lights. I agreed.

It started off well. Shopping and talking to Kelly help me take my mind off of Ryan. We got in the car and drove towards the park.

when we came up to a stop light I saw the light change to yellow. I saw Kelly panic. Next thing I know, we slid into the intersection and a car bashed into my side. That's all I remember. Fortunately Kelly was fine, just a few bruises here and there. I was the one who had the full on hit. My right arm and two ribs broke.

The surgery went well, but I has to stay in the hospital to heal.

I looked at Ryan who was looking at me with his big brown eyes. The same way he did when we were little and broke one of my toys and was asking for forgiveness.

When he realized I wasn't going to forgive him he spoke. "Maddie I'm so sorry, about everything. I tried to call you on Christmas, but you didn't answer. That night I got a call from the hospital that you were in a crash. Trust me Maddie I got here as quickly as I could."

He paused waiting for me to respond. I didn't know what to think or say. I just stayed silent.

He sighed and stood up. He started walking towards the door. I didn't want him to leave me again. "Wait Ryan! Please come back!" I cried desperately.

The door shut. He was gone.
