I cried for a few minutes, realizing I just shooed off my one and only brother who did everything he could to be here.

I started settling back down. I missed him so much, I wanted him to come back.

The door handle turned. I thought it was Ryan comming back, but it wasn't. It was a nurse with a wheel chair.

"Hi Maddie." She smiled. She was maybe just a little older than me.

"Hi, um, you probably won't know the answer to this but, did you see a guy in an army uniform leave?"

She looked down at the wheel chair. "Yes, but don't worry. Let's go outside and get some freash air.

I nodded in agreement. She helped me get into the wheel chair and she got the blanket off my bed and gave it to me.

She walked me to the elevator and then we went down to the main floor. When the elevator doors opened she rolled me outside.

There was a hospital van parked right outside the frount door. I didn't think anything of it untill I saw Ryan walk out from behind it.

I smiled and started crying again. "Let's go for a ride Maddie." He winked and walked to the passengers side. I looked at the nurse and she smiled and rolled me over to Ryan.

They lifted me into the van and put the wheel chair in the back. The nurse handed my brother the keys. "Drive slow and make sure to bring it back before 12." She warned.

"Don't worry, you can trust me." He replied with a smile.

She walked back inside the hospital. Ryan looked at me with a cheeky grin and started the van.
