Luka glared at Zander who had forced him to go to Azure's place for the Christmas party, Phoenix was chatting with Taysa at the dinner table.
Everything kept quiet as someone walked in, absolutely nobody expected, Elizabeth.
Luka's eyes widen as he looked at her, shocked, Phoenix got the idea and pulled onto Zanders arm who also looked.
"Uh, what are you three losers doing here? Wait for a sec... Luna!"
Elizabeth shouted out, storming out of the room, in hot pursuit of her cousin.
Luna carried a tray of chicken out of the kitchen towards the dining room where she noticed the twins.
"Hey guys, did you greet Azure yet?" Luna gave a soft smile when she noticed Taysa and Phoenix chatting to another.
"Yeah, we did. "Zander smiled tiredly and got up from his seat, his brother, on the other hand, wanted to go far away from here.
"I'll help you in the kitchen Luna. "Zander left his brother and went to the kitchen to help, in Luka's perspective his brother had betrayed him to get food but Phoenix was still there just not talking to him.
Everybody sat down for this little get together before Christmas, chatting among one other, discussing their days.
Elizabeth sat across from Luka, glaring at him with her arms crossed over her chest almost like sulking. "Why are they here?" She pointed towards Zander and Phoenix, asking her cousin Luna.
"Because dear cousin. "She mumbled sarcastically. "Azure is the eldest triplet, making them all brothers... And since Melanie is dating Azure making Zander and Luka our brothers in law. So it will be weird if you were dating our brother in law... Just because you are popular in school doesn't mean you can hook up with anyone. "
Luna mumbled sarcastically glaring at her annoying cousin Elizabeth, the rest of the day was socially awkward, nobody really spoke to one another.
Phoenix was being stared at, he could feel it and it bothered him a lot, he swiftly looked up to see Elizabeth glaring at him.
Her eyes burning into his skull, he held onto Luka's arm tightly, the youngest triplet looked towards Phoenix worried. "What's wrong?"
"Elizabeth has been glaring at me for a while now. "The small male mumbled as he looked at the table, noticing how many werewolves there were.
Luka looked up at Elizabeth with a deep glare, she couldn't hold it for long, she looked away with a huff.
"Thank you, everyone, for joining our little get together before Christmas, I really appreciate that you could all make it. "Azure used his Alpha tone causing everyone to look at him, Phoenix felt like a small lamb with large wolves, hungrily watching his movements and so did Taysa, she felt intimidated by them all.
Taysa looked towards Melanie, who was kindly smiling towards everyone as her mate spoke with pride.
The late afternoon sun shone through the thick forest trees onto Azure's pack territory, it was a quiet afternoon, too quiet for comfort making Azure suspicious.
"Lunch was awful..." Azure sighed loudly while massaging his temples from the forming tension headache making him growl whenever it hurt.
"Baby, you're working yourself to the bone. Your brother has had a rough past, give them time to adjust to it. "Melanie spoke softly leaning towards him as they stood outside of the main packhouse.
"I've given them time! How much time do they need?!" He snapped towards his mate who looked at him calmly, other Alphas who snap towards their mates would get the silent treatment from the liver but this relationship was different.
"Maybe a week, it is annoying Azure but you need to be patient at this time. The main focus is to be locating those rogues who have been kidnapping mates. "She gently held his hand making him relax more, a soft whine from Malcolm, Azure's wolf called out for Mel making her smile slightly. "I'm always here for you. "
"Me too. "Azure glanced down towards Mel and gently kissed her head, a snap from the forest made him pull away and protectively put Mel behind his large build.
A medium-sized she-wolf emerged from the forest, the she-wolf had a bronze color Azure didn't recognize, he growled deeply almost shifting — only to see that the entire pack area was surrounded by rogues.
"Shit... Melanie, get everyone to safety."
